In the summer of 2009, Florence Welch's soulful contralto vocals could be heard seemingly everywhere. Her band, Florence + The Machine, released their rousing debut studio album Lungs via Island Records.

It spawned the singles "Dog Days Are Over," and "You've Got The Love," which impressed the band's native indie-rock community and then broke into the mainstream.

Since then, Florence + The Machine have released several chart-topping LPs, 2011's Ceremonials, 2015's How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful and 2018's High As Hope.

Welch and her bandmates have announced that they would re-release Lungs on Aug. 16, 2019 and shared two rare tracks from that era. The band's signature baroque-pop and alt-rock-infused sound can be heard in both of the new demos that double as singles, "Donkey Kosh" and "My Best Dress."
