Sounded Great

5 Stars
Posted Thursday, December 7, 2023 by Jim Was a pretty clean copy, just a few clicks, ticks & pops even after a bath on the VPI. For me a new record should be nothing but music. Was Tolerable. I in fact bought a copy at a local store and it had a little more noise. I took it back for refund. I no longer have the original lp to compare to. Reviewed on Rega Planner 3 with upgraded power supply through Moon phono preamp to NAD receiver out to Dynaudio Excite X44 speakers.

Very low output

5 Stars
Posted Tuesday, February 14, 2023 by Mike The output seems to be really low on this release (European) and this one is being sold in the US for some reason versus the US release. Had to turn my amp up from 9 o'clock to 11-11:30. Packaging is nice and record is flat.

Tops in comparison to all 1st pressings

5 Stars
Posted Friday, December 2, 2022 by Derek Spratt I have collected over 20 Honky Chateau pressings from 1st press UK and 1st press US and Canada and other later pressings, always searching for the best sonic and cleanest/quietest results and this 2017 pressing beats them all - simply put the remastering is a dream come true and when combined with the improved pressing quality, this is a 'must have' along with all other early EJ LPs which were remastered to vinyl starting in 2014 with GBYBR. Strangely, these are not available on CD or streaming yet - except the 50th Ann Madman release. Hmmm. Vinyl is the way forward for now.

Very good sound

4 Stars
Posted Tuesday, December 20, 2016 by Brian The 4-star review has nothing to do with the greatness of the album, which is incontrovertible. It's the sound quality that gets 4 stars out of 5.

The sound is usually very smooth, but it could be a little more dynamic. Sometimes there is a ragged halo around guitars. It's as is the recording tape had been oversaturated, but just by the smallest of margins. This only happens on the highest notes. Other than that, everything sounds wonderful.

It should be noted that the audience can be loud, but they only make noise at the beginnings and endings of songs. When the Allmans go off on their very longs solos, the crowd is quiet. I suspect that we, as listeners, would behave precisely the same way as we witness rock history being made.

This is one of those albums where I wish I could give a 4.5 star rating. The sound is pretty remarkable, but there are slight limitations.

FINALLY some classic Rush on vinyl

5 Stars
Posted Tuesday, April 29, 2014 by wownflutter As far as the package goes, I really don't think any of the extras have much interest. I could have done without all of it and settled for just the vinyl at a lower price. As for the music...It's Rush, what else can I say? I've gotten some really good remasters from Mofi and Analogue Productions lately and this is not quite at that level, but it's very good nontheless. The vinyl seems very quiet and flat. I wish somebody would release more of their classic albums. They would sell like crazy.

Five stars for the mastering, four for the pressing

4 Stars
Posted Saturday, April 19, 2014 by Anonymous This is a fabulous sounding pressing of a classic album, but unfortunately side two was a bit noisy. Not enough to be a huge distraction, but the other three sides were so quiet that it stood out. Five stars otherwise. Outstanding mastering job, great dynamics, nice tight bass. No complaints there.

KISS - Destroyer Resurrected Product No: AMER 720101

More like "Refreshed" than "Resurrected"...

5 Stars
Posted Sunday, August 26, 2012 by Tony McCarty According to Bob Ezrin, his source for revisiting this album was a digital copy of the original analog tapes. The original sessions were recorded on 16-track, meaning certain instruments and vocals were "paired" and could not be separated out. This was also an issue when the Double Platinum album was being cut; Sean Delaney could do little to remix the Ezrin-produced songs. So the basic tracks on Resurrected are the same as the original album, but with greater clarity, more full bottom end, and a few added "sonic touches" that makes it stand out from the original. It sounds great! Instruments and vocals have more "air" around them and it has a more expansive, "refreshed" sound. Packaging is first rate. The album cover is the original painting offered by Ken Kelly. Inside is a color fold-out of the final Destroyer album cover with album notes by Bob Ezrin. The vinyl is dead quiet and includes the original "Bogart" Casablanca label. All 70's Kiss albums should be refreshed like this!
