Another High-Quality Remaster!

Utilization of 180g vinyl and spreading the tracks across two LPs yields a more "open" quality to the music. I bought the CD back in 1989 and the sound was impeccable, but this release brings a richer separation and overall quality. No track is lacking in excellent soundstage. Tracks like "The End of the Innocence" and "New York Minute" seem to float through the room while those with a throaty, rock base dominate the air! This is a must-have! Get one!

I always wanted this collection on vinyl and FINALLY got one thanks to being a customer of Acoustic Sounds. In my humble opinion, these two discs contain some of the best blues/music you'll ever hear. The vinyl plays quiet with no background noise anywhere! The recording/mixing is high-quality with awesome soundstage across the spectrum. B.B.'s "Lucille" sounds sharp as a razor and silky smooth! This title should be in the collection of all B.B. King fans! Go buy it while it's still in stock!!

Posted Sunday, December 29, 2024 by Larry H. Exceptional version of a great album! Remastering on two discs of 180g vinyl was a good move! The music is more open with crisp separation. David Paich's piano solo on Sunset Grill sounded like he was playing in the room! Every track is crystal clear. I have an earlier vinyl copy and one on CD, but this release is by far, the best. When it becomes available again, don't miss it!

Posted Tuesday, April 2, 2024 by Dan The legendary - Live At Leeds LP came out as I was a junior in high school. I'm very familiar with the songs from FM radio but never owned a copy of it. Pro; I am pleased to own this LP the music is great and vinyl absolutely dead quiet. The cover first rate. I would recommend this LP and truly enjoy it. My 21 year old son loves it too. Con; The recording sounds a bit recessed although clear not muffled. Dynamics are there but again somewhat recessed little truly jumps out at the listener. The music sounds best at a higher volume. LOL, The Who would approve! A solid 5.

I have only one trouble: original album, last track "something in the way" has some serious sound distortions in the right channel. Otherwise it's a very good sounding record.

Great sounding, even if from digital, although i'm sure the AP cuttings will blow this one away. I wanted this if for nothing else to compare as my original 1972 has been out of action since the 70s.Vinyl is very quite and overall sound is great, good low end, and a flat 180g pressing.

I had no idea that they went to Albini and he helmed this release until a year ago. It's fantastic. DMM, 45 rpm, etc. I love the Albini mixes of HSB and AA. The other differences I either like or don't mind. I did miss the cello all over Dumb, but I got use it and this album sounds less compressed. The album has the Albini drum sound missing from original. Very full. I paid 80 dollars for this before it was repressed, then when it came back for 35 to 40 bucks I bought a back up copy.

Record was warped, but not enough to cause any playback issues or cause that much of a pitch difference. Very little noise, no pops or clicks after a good clean, comes with a poster which is cool. Bass isn't as punchy as I would like, it's really noticeable on "Say It Ain't So" The mix isn't bad, and the mastering is quite good. Sounds relatively good. Not muddy, quite clear, and the guitars sound great.

Sides 1-3 play quiet as you could ask for but side 4 has, I guess, what would be called “groove roar”….like a constant static-y swoosh that is very obvious between tracks but also during any part of playback where the music that is quieter or just less busy. I’ve tried two copies and both have had this defect. Just a head’s up. It may just be the current batch, but if you receive one with this issue you’ll hear it loud and clear….and it’s a drag.

I'm very surprised this quality was put out by Geffen, without signifying it as anything special other than "remastered" (which these days, often means worse!). Normally you don't get this level of realism without marketing it as an audiophile pressing. I thought the previous, single disc pressing, done at Pallas in Europe, was amazing, and aside from some minor surface defects, I thought my pressing really felt like it placed you with the band. This new remaster/pressing makes it even more like you are in the room with the band, and you feel the whole room. It's a bit bizarre... we all know it is no longer possible to watch Nirvana live, and we know Kurt Cobain is dead, but as I listened to it I felt like I got to be physically present with the band performing in front of me. This is some kind of time warp. It is one of the most lifelike recordings I have. And this pressing is dead quiet.

The album opens with Refugee 3:25 of brass knuckled take no prisoners RR and from then on this Band was my horse even if they never won another race. Great sounding record flat,quite and explosive. The heartbreakers are more than a match for the “E street Band”. This album kick started Petty’s golden twang era don’t pass it up.
