At long last: the classic Steely Dan catalog is back on 33 1/3 vinyl. Led by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, Steely Dan released seven albums from 1972-1980. The vinyl series continues with Katy Lied, the band's 1975's album featuring "Black Friday," "Bad Sneakers" and "Doctor Wu," and the addition of Michael McDonald on vocals. For this reissue, a flat hi-res file was the source for a new remastering by Jo Nino-Hernes at Sterling Sound in Nashville.

"Black Friday" charted at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Bargain posted on 05/02/2025 4 Stars Reviewer: DCBRN Sounds better than MFSL issue. Yes, a new ‘regular’ pressing is better than a ‘fancy’ (expensive) pressing from yesteryear. A bargain. Good bass. Less sibilance. Quiet surface. This recording, for me, opened up ‘Everyone’s Gone to the Movies’ as sooo enjoyable. The percussion grooves are way cool. Good and affordable.

Almost sounds on a par with The Royal Scam and Aja production-wise. Fantastic job on this one! Definitely worth the wait. Thank you!!
