Stereo mix remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tape

"Beck's second proper solo came out in 1975, a surprise for fans in that it consisted solely of instrumentals. But what instrumentals! It set a pattern that's evident right up to the present, with sleek, shimmering and iconoclastic guitar playing, blues-y and jazzy interludes, complex rhythm patterns and the feeling that Beck is happy to be just a musician in a band. Max Middleton joined him on keyboards, as with his earlier albums, while Stevie Wonder guests anonymously, and George Martin produced it, his deft touch ensuring a milestone in Beck's career. That it contains the coolest-ever Beatles cover — 'She's A Woman' — is no coincidence." — Sound Quality = 91% - Ken Kessler, HiFi News, December 2016

1975 was a magical year for Jeff Beck. Already a rock superstar from his groundbreaking guitar work with The Yardbirds, Jeff Beck Group and Beck Bogert & Appice, Beck's Blow By Blow was a total artistic leap into new musical territory which netted the guitar hero massive acclaim. Produced by the legendary George Martin, Blow By Blow features nine smokin' tracks of instrumental genius as only Jeff Beck could provide. Now Blow By Blow is back bigger and better than ever! We've gone the deluxe Analogue Productions route — remastered from the original analog tape by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound and now available as a Hybrid Multichannel SACD. This Hybrid SACD plays in both CD and SACD players, as well as all SACD-compatible DVD players. A great title, a brilliant reissue — what could be better?

What I’ve missed all these years

I owned Blow by Blow on cassette back in the 80s. I never got into it. And now why. Only tape deck I had then was a boom box, nothing worthy or able to capture someone like Becks subtleties and complexity. This SACD doesn’t even sound like the artist to my ears. Not only are there the expected forwarding of the background musician but there is the apparent expanding of the soundstage.

My first sit down with this disc, the music at times sounded like it was coming from speakers placed about six feet further from each other. Amazing.

There so much to this release, if you’re a music lover, and you have never listened to this, I invite and encourage you to part with your cash. This is a winner.

Best Version!

By far the best version out there. Warm and enveloping. The Sony versions are out of phase, no bottom end, so they sound thin and brittle. My only complaint is that there are no technical credits. Who did the Multichannel mix? Who mastered it?

Stunning sounding release

Analogue Productions deserves great credit for remastering and releasing such an incredible sounding multi-channel SACD release of this classic recording. This one is a stunner, well worth the purchase.
