When Jeff Beck announced that he was working on an all-instrumental album, few but his legion of guitar fans could have predicted the far-reaching impact of this pivotal jazz-rock fusion album. Teamed with the Beatles' ex-producer George Martin, Beck singlehandedly created a new subtext for rock & roll. With his virtuosity and taste at an all-time peak, Beck let loose with such unforgettable tracks as the Roy Buchanan-inspired "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" and the percolating "Freeway Jam." This is one of rock's great instrumental works.

I think this is like the 3rd or 4th copy I have on polycarbonate but the first MCH. My Sony UDP didnt want to play this in MCH for some reason. I say play, its just a transport. My Marantz AV 7706 pre/pro did not want to decode in MCH. I opened the drawer on the Sony and got ready to put in my old Oppo and the Multi Ch In display came up on Marantz with no disc playing. Put this disc back in the Sony and the Marantz decoded in MCH. Weird! Speaking of weird, the packaging is that. Odd size, no jewel box. I thought for a minute I got a 45rpm. That is what it is meant to look like for some reason. I would have rather had a jewel case to go with my 2000+ other jewel cases. Supposedly this disc was made from QUAD mixes. It sounds a little different than stereo redbook and stereo SACD which has been my experience with QUAD and QUADIO SACD's and BluRays.Still great.Highly recommended.

Blow By Blow Hybrid Multi Channel SACD posted on 08/15/2014 5 Stars Reviewer: Mark Powers The description that Acoustic Sounds gives is great. My experience after receiving this disc was complete satisfaction starting with the packaging. I like the large 7" sleeve holder. I got home a little tired and set this multi channel SACD with external outputs, no use of a 5.1 processor, just listened to it the way it came off the disc. I closed my eyes, sat in the middle of the 5 speakers and 1 sub and was completely in heaven. This edition/remaster is as good as any of the best multi channel SACD's that are available. Absolutely a great recording.
