The Jayhawks' Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass repressed, back in stock!

Reissues part of the band's massive career-spaning archival project

Remastered using original analog sources whenever possible

The Jayhawks — the beloved Minnesota twang-rockers — are marking their career with a series of deluxe vinyl reissues that include the seminal albums Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass.

Released in 1992, Hollywood Town Hall wasn't a hit, but it received enough rave reviews to considerably raise the Jayhawks' profile, writes AllMusic.com.

Hollywood Town Hall became The Jayhawks' breakthrough album and a roots rock classic. "'Like folk music, but really loud' is how guitarist Gary Louris liked to describe the Jayhawks, but the reality is more complex — try the country-rock sound of the Flying Burrito Brothers, Neil Young, or the Band married to white-boy soul, bar band rawness, and a slight alternative edge. Hollywood Town Hall is a masterpiece of American songwriting, blending irresistible melodies, ringing guitars, and Louris and Olson's gorgeous harmonies with moody, imagery-rich lyrics. Best cuts: 'Waiting for the Sun,' and 'Take Me with You (When You Go).'" — Amazon.com

Positives: Wonderful mastering by Kevin Gray. Nicely pressed 180 gram vinyl by QRP. Negatives: Cheap white inner sleeve. I'm surprised QRP would let a record leave the plant in one. Light/ non gate-fold jacket but it's expected in this price point. Conclusion: A very worthy purchase!
