180 Gram Vinyl Record

180 Gram LP

Mastered from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray at AcousTech Mastering and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.

"…it obsoletes the original in almost every way…When you hear the new reissue, even if you've heard the original 100 times since it first came out, which would easily be me, you will almost jump out of your seat when you hear these familiar elements move from the shadows to the foreground…Astral Weeks, one of the great records of the rock era, is destined to become one of the great reissues of the post-CD/analog revival era." Music = 11/11, Sound = 10/11 – Michael Fremer, www.musicangle.com

1968's Astral Weeks remains not only Morrison's masterpiece but one of the greatest records ever made. A haunting, deeply personal collection of impressionistic folk-styled epics recorded by an all-star jazz backing unit including bassist Richard Davis and drummer Connie Kay, its poetic complexity earned critical raves but made only a minimal commercial impact.

The best pressing of this title I have ever heard. Another (see Moondance) home run. BUY IT! Worth twice the price. Another 'must have' for any music collection.

Music is amazing and the quality of the recording and pressing is the way it should be. Lays perfectly flat on my table and the sound is impeccable. This is a must buy for anyone.

This my 1st lp, played on my 1st turntable. I usualy listen to SACD, but this sounds better than any of the almost 100 super audio cd's I own. I can not beleive vinyl sounds better than Digital! MY SAcd player cost 3x the amount of my Turntable! Wow what a record.

What a great way to listen to this always-challenging and esoteric album.

If you like this album you'll love this. I myself find it to be self opinionated drivel from a performer who is capable of much better like Moondance and even Tupelo Honey. I think Van the Man just loves himself to death and this is just the beginning of years of self rightiousness! Sounds good though!!

I'll just say that it kills the CD... Completely demolishes it.
