Amy Duncan is a Scottish singer/songwriter based in Edinburgh. With her melodious acoustic sound and emotional songwriting infused with remarkable honesty, Amy has established herself as one of the brightest musical talents in Scotland.

Undercurrents was funded by Creative Scotland, and produced by Calum Malcolm (The Blue Nile, Prefab Sprout), and follows on from her acclaimed 2013 Linn Records release Cycles of Life. Since then Amy was chosen by Showcase Scotland as one of two Scottish acts to perform at the Eastern Canadian Music Alliance in April 2014 with trio members Fiona Rutherford (harp) and Lawrie Macmillan (bass) and was part of the Made In Scotland Showcase at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013 and 2014. There is a strong musical progression in this new body of work, which has been highly praised by Bruce Findlay (manager Simple Minds). The album features Amy's long term collaborator Fiona Rutherford on harp, bassist Lawrie MacMillan (Stiltskin, Ray Wilson), drums by Liam Bradley (Van Morrison, Ronan Keating) and Scottish Chamber Orchestra musicians; Sijie Chen (violin), Jane Atkins (viola) and Donald Gillan (cello). Strings were written and arranged by Amy who also plays acoustic and electric guitars, piano and double bass on the album.
