The final release in Gov't Mule's 20th Anniversary Celebration, Dub Side of the Mule was recorded during Mule's fabled New Year's Eve 2006 performance at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The show features three hours of Mule, including a one-hour reggae set featuring Toots Hibbert (of Toots & The Maytals). The album also includes special appearances by Gregg Allman & Friends and John Popper of Blues Traveler.
