Noise Noise Noise

Posted Friday, December 15, 2017 by Steve52 I was really glad to see a remaster of this LP, but all I got was noise. Could not listen thru side 1, too noisy. Clicks, pops what have you. Very unfortunate.

Best sounding Supertramp I've heard

5 Stars
Posted Tuesday, January 6, 2015 by Brian VanPelt I'm used to a thin sound with this group, but this album restores a great deal of the fullness that I think was on the original vinyl (I don't know for sure because I never heard it). The sound of Supertramp on CD sounds thin, but sharp. If that bothers you, then this album will be a revelation. All of the detail is there, but with the smoothness of vinyl. The soundstage is fairly wide and deep, although neither the widest nor deepest I've heard. The lead singer's voice is still a little thin, but that just my be the way the guy sings. Also, the imaging is quite sharp and the voices are right in the middle, at the level of the listener, with the vocals a little farther back than the rest of the music. I've only listened to it once when I wrote this, so I might revisit as I think the sound will get even more robust upon future listenings. Overall, a very nice remastering job. If I could give a more detailed rating, I'd give it a 4.8. I will definitely put this on a permanent rotat

Rocks pretty good

4 Stars
Posted Thursday, October 16, 2014 by Jeff C - Australia I got the CD back when it was first released and this vinyl is definitely a much better listen. I would be interested to know how it stacks up against the 1994 vinyl, but a used set in great condition will cost you over $100. So for the price I have no complaints about this set. Discs are very flat, no surface noise and tonal balance is very pleasing and overall a nice package.

One thing that I find totally pointless is the inclusion of 320kbps file download. Really? Why bother with a poor digital imitation when you have the vinyl? I think the only digital inclusion worth having would be a proper CD which at least gives you something closer to the vinyl to rip to your digital system in FLAC.
