The AP Genesis releases are a gift from heaven

There is plenty of air and space in the soundstage. The cymbals sound so natural. If you are a disappointed owner of the 2008 remix/masters then do yourself a huge favor and upgrade to the AP remasters of the Genesis titles now. I own them all. They are ALL amazing.

I cannot wait for the releases of "Wind and Wuthering" and "Duke". Please consider releasing "And Then There Were Three" too, please!

Musically stellar and presented in pristine and vivid audio detail. Aretha's in the room and sounds as close to "reel". Great sound staging, separation of instruments and vocal placements. Quiet, flat vinyl and beautiful new photos on the inside jacket. Truly definitive.

It does seem to sound different than I remember the original pressing sounding, a tad softer in the lower end...but it is a 50+ year old recording so the fact that we can even get a fresh release on SACD, it's decent enough.

Posted Thursday, August 28, 2025 by Blue Essential reincarnation of this LP. When I saw AP was reissuing it as a 45, I initially thought "ughh." I owned an original of this album back in the day, and though I loved it, I thought it one of the muddiest sounding records I'd ever heard-hence my trepidation. After reading a few reviews of it, I took a gamble, and I must say, I'm impressed - the mud has been washed away! Not audiophile, but beautifully cleaned up, and boy, does it rock.

Posted Wednesday, May 28, 2025 by Larry H. Just finished listening to this release of "Burnin' Sky" and I'm blown away as usual! Both discs play perfectly! Quiet, flat with full soundstage that makes the music feel "3D" as it fills the room! Overwhelming bass and drums with the Paul Rodgers vocals "floating" in like fog on the water! I've added numerous AP releases to my collection, and this is the third from Bad Company. The quality for the cost is incredible! The celebration of the "Atlantic 75" has been a huge success in my humble opinion! Keep offering them up and I promise to keep buying them! Thank you, Acoustic Sounds!

Great Sounding SACD

Posted Saturday, March 22, 2025 by :DavidL My wife is a huge MB20 / Rob Thomas fan. I have heard this album many more times than I would have wanted. I will say of all the MB20 albums this is my favorite. Previous digital and vinyl copies of this album that I have owned have all sounded compressed, noisy, grungy, ear fatiguing. Then this AP reissue comes along. AP got it right. Great soundstage and clarity. And those guitar chords have that nice GRRR sound. AP & Ryan K Smith brought out the best of this recording. It sounds better than any previous version I have heard. I won't mind playing this one over and over and over for my wife (and maybe a few times for myself).

Posted Monday, March 10, 2025 by Sckott I had to dig out my two other copies: an original cut from Atlantic US (specialty, Variant 1), the 2LP reissue Miles cut from Abbey Road, and this one. I don't have an Island copy. At first, I thought something was technically off on my end, but alas, some cuts on this album aren't as intense (LFR) as others. Silver, Blue & Gold has a low delivery of bottom end, while something like Sweet Little Sister is more. This 2LP, 45rpm has much better clarity than the other two in general.

Why different sources?

Posted Monday, February 24, 2025 by Alex First off, this SACD sounds wonderful. Balanced, the drums smack you in the face, bass is tight and present, and the golden pipes of Paul Rodgers are front and center as they should be.

However, a big question is why the SACD release of Straight Shooter was sourced from a copy of the master tape, while the vinyl version was from the original master tape? Most of the Atlantic 75 series have the same source material from the vinyl and SACD. Would be very curious to know the answer to this question.
