"If you already know the album and are very familiar with it you'll put this on and you'll just be hooked you'll be glued to it from side one through to side eight. ... an absolute all round unequivocal thumbs up for me." — Dave Denyer on YouTube compares the "absolutely superb new Chris Bellman all-analogue cut from the original master tapes" to both a 1974 U.K. original and 1980 U.K. "Porky Prime Cut." Video.

Michael Ludwigs, 45 RPM Audiophile — 'Atlantic 75: Genesis, Bad Company, Phil Collins Against the Original Pressings.' YouTube video.

"... another thing I noticed with the sound is ... this one opens up as you would expect a 45 to, but there's much
more detail in the mid-range so that is really impressive and a key to my enjoyment of this album as a whole." — Scott Wilson, The Pressing Matters, YouTube. Watch the full review here.

Genesis' sixth studio album was released as a double album in November 1974 by Charisma Records and is the last to feature original frontman Peter Gabriel. The group's longest album to date, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway peaked at No. 10 on the U.K. Albums Chart and No. 41 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S..

The album is a concept album and tells the surreal story, devised by Gabriel, of a young Puerto Rican named Rael who embarks on a journey through a series of strange and bizarre events in New York City.

Musically, the album is a departure from the band's previous works, incorporating a wide range of styles including progressive rock, art rock, funk, and jazz fusion. The album features complex rhythms, intricate melodies, and dense layers of instrumentation, showcasing the band's virtuosic musicianship.

The album is notable for its use of storytelling, with each track contributing to the larger narrative of Rael's journey. The lyrics are often cryptic and abstract, and the album's surreal imagery has been interpreted in a variety of ways by listeners and critics.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway gained acclaim in the years after its release, reaching gold certification for sales in the U.K. and U.S.. In 1978, Nick Kent wrote for NME that it "had a compelling appeal that often transcended the hoary weightiness of the mammoth concept that held the equally mammoth four sides of vinyl together." In a special edition of Q and Mojo magazines titled Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock, The Lamb ranked at No. 14 in its 40 Cosmic Rock Albums list. The album came third in a list of the 10 best concept albums by Uncut magazine, where it was described as an "impressionistic, intense album" and "pure theatre (in a good way) and still Gabriel's best work." A Rolling Stone poll to rank readers' favourite progressive rock albums of all time placed The Lamb fifth in the list.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is widely regarded as one of Genesis's most important and influential works, inspiring generations of progressive rock musicians.

Yes it sounds great. But I want to take a moment to praise the beautify sleeve design. Definitely one of the nicest looking albums in my collections now. It’s like a book, 4 sleeves each with the lyrics as pages. I was worried there was gonna be some sort of annoying fold out or inner sleeve. I don’t like those. This is perfect! (Note to Acoustic Sounds team: A lot of your work, especially the A75 and UHQR albums, is beautiful and is part of the my purchase decision. We know your stuff sounds great, but you should include photos of the packaging on the album’s sale page!)

I’ve had many versions of this double LP, including digital and of course Steve Hackett versions, plus I’ve listened to live performances with Genesis in the early 80’s, The Musical Box and Steve Hackett. This is THE one. Worth every penny.

Hands down the best sounding release of this recording I have ever heard, digital or analogue. Detail and definition is unparalleled. As the years have passed I have been increasingly disappointed that this material never sounded as good as the writing and performing demanded, but that ends here.

Fantastique!

This one is indeed the fifth in my collection. I have the 1st UK press, 1st Japanese press, the Hot Stamper LP graded A++ from Better records company (actually also 1st UK press) and Half speed mastering copy from the "1970-1975 Box set". So what can I say? I know this album so good - one can say I know every note, every chord, that once I put it on a needle (My Sonic Signature Gold), I immedeately found out so many new sound details that were coming out from all instruments that indeed could not beleive my ears. Entire day I've spend in a hearing comparison finding out more and more details. I really want to thank all people who did this really terrific job to issue this fantastic album with such a FANTASTIC and UNBELIEVABLE quality.

But this is as good as it gets for this album. It should have come with a little envelope of blotter.

If you are like me, and thought that the Classic Records 200g pressing of Lamb was disappointing, look no further, this AP pressing is without a doubt the finest you will find - ever. I can not imagine a better pressing produced from either the past or future. Expensive yes, but so worth it. Vinyls are quiet and flat. Matrices are like glass. Sound quality is Superb. Double gatefold jacket is also of the highest quality. As Chad likes to say "Buy now, or Cry later".

Everything about this release is phenomenal. This is my favorite Genesis album, I even have a poster of the cover framed on my listening room wall. I have owned a us original, the classic records edition and even the 2007 remix, and we won’t talk about that. This one has the clearest, freshest, and punchiest sound of any release I have heard, and I know this album like the back of my hand, and I’m hearing things I have never heard. The book like quadruple sleeve is amazing. Best presentation all around. My 13 year old daughter( who is not a prog rock fan) came into the room and listened just based on the sound she was hearing.

Like a lot of people, I was excited when I first heard about the Atlantic 75. I received Selling England BTP a few weeks ago and was very pleased. The Lamb is equally satisfying. In short, these 45rpm records are the state of the art for these amazing Genesis albums.

I bought this when it came out, bought the CD when it came out, and bought the 5.1 when that came out.

There is simply no question. This is the best mastering of this recording there has ever been. We can start with the fact that the recording has more bottom than any other mastering in history, and go on from there.

Another phenomenal release from Chad.
