This title has a diverse range of tracks that are appealing in different ways. Everything from excellent vocals to guitar leads, bass leads, instrumentals, great sax, and orchestral horns are distinct. Crystal- clear separation and a real listening pleasure! Flat, quiet vinyl housed in a quality, gate-fold jacket. All three titles are welcome additions to my collection!

It’s the term I would use when sharing my thoughts about this album to a friend. The further I explored; the entire album package quality became increasingly apparent. From the gatefold jacket and its inner sleeves too the record pressing of flat, quiet, heavy vinyl. I read “A message from KENNY” written on the record sleeve of side one before I began playback. With that foreknowledge I was able to immediately begin to assess and critique the music and its delivery. Upon initial playback my eyes lifted in response to the recording volume as the music played loud. I was pleased and surprised how each song magically made me feel I was listening to a live recording all the while with studio recording detail and precision. I sat in my listening chair with album jacket and record sleeve with lyrics in hand and took it all in. This album felt like a good book. One

Simply Stunning Pressing of this old Gem

Posted Friday, April 17, 2026 by Brad Rapp This is the 1987 mix George Martin made for the first release of The Beatles on CD. The CD was ok, but some of the fun bits like the fuzz bass on “Think for Yourself” were subdued, tamed. I found the CD to be smooth sounding but disappointing. But by using the 24bit masters pressed to vinyl nothing is subdued, everything is so clear and present nothing is lost and much is gained. It’s basically stunning. I won’t say every album in this 2012 EMI series out performs all that came before, but this excels. Drums sound like drums, not cardboard with vague splashes of cymbals.The vocals and separation of instruments all recreate the original intention of the finished mixes. Because these ARE the original mixes, not the digitally extracted stems used to remix them for today’s market. Compares favorably to Mo-Fi imo.

If you take an Alan Parsons Project classic, half-speed master it at 45rpm and press it on two discs of 180g vinyl, you get pure pleasure for fans of their music! After receiving this edition in the usual perfect condition we've come to expect from Acoustic Sounds, both discs were played in their entirety. The vinyl is flat, without a ripple, quiet without an unwanted sound and delivered the best version of these tracks I've ever heard! I'm really pleased with the new APP releases and glad I made the decision to buy all three at once! Get 'em before they're gone!!

Worth the Wait!!

I always thought this was an amazing album and over the last several years, wanted a 45rpm version. Now I have one that is half-speed mastered too! This release is excellent in every way and is on a totally different level than the previous. Perfectly quiet playback, amazing separation on all tracks and archive quality packaging! I listened to both discs in one sitting and was ecstatic! Getting in early and snagging a numbered copy with the Obi strip was icing on the cake! Thank you AC for another great offering!

BUT, "A Deeper Understanding" is a fave for its stunning background vocal mixing, and this master and press is outstanding. This one is replacing my 2018 remaster pressed elsewhere.

After taking the time to listen to all four sides, I was really impressed with this release. Very quiet in all the right places with a solid sound stage on all tracks. It brought back memories of all the great rock included, but the real test was the clarity and depth of "True Companion". That was crystal clear with awesome separation! Even Fagen would be pleased with it! If you don't have a copy, make sure to get one when you can!

I have a few used copies of this but this release goes to another level. I'll take Ella's Songbooks above everything else any day of the week. I can't understand why AP has not done any of Ella's songbooks on UHQR..Makes no sense.

I never would have thought that but here we are. Even if you aren't yet a Bill Evans fan...this is easily one of the greatest sounding jazz albums and most listenable jazz albums you will ever have in your collection. Like I said...I wasn't expecting it to be that out of this world but it is. Buy now...it will become a treasured piece in your collection.

Quiet, detailed organic and captivating. The "extra" material was worth while and interesting to have. Great bargain in my opinion.

Not quite top-tier as the vinyl isn't silent and actually a bit noisy between tracks and during solo/quiet passages. But overall still pretty good. Better than the original digital? Not exactly sure about that but worth having if you're a Big Fan like I am (see what I did there?).

But if you listen to this 5.1 SACD at full volume, it might help. Great 5.1 mix (thanks Bruce) of some great source material, superbly preserved and (re)mastered.
