Posted Sunday, October 27, 2024 by Superbee This is a great sounding record with an awesome Jacket from Stoughton, this reissue sounds better than my silver A&M label version but I don’t understand choosing this album over the album simply titled Humble Pie or even the album titled Rock On because in my opinion those records are better but that is just my opinion, this is an awesome release!

Posted Saturday, October 5, 2024 by Jake C I want to give this 4 stars because it came out of the package with visible fingerprints and a light scuff. Nice "QC", guys. Definitely a MoFi issue and *not* an Acoustic Sounds issue. At least MoFi has stopped adding the folded marketing inserts which undoubtedly add to their infamous problems with seam splits on the jackets.

I am forced to give 5 stars, however, as this is simply a stunning effort. This is easily one of the most impressive- sounding records in my collection. The clarity, separation, soundstage, and life in the recording are just all-around impressive, add to that the deep black backgrounds and I just have to say the $60 was money well-spent. I would happily use this as a reference recording to show off the capabilities of my system to guests.

Suddenly, after about 5 songs, Atmos kicked in and the mix was astounding. So I won't be returning the DVD ;)

Posted Thursday, September 19, 2024 by WILLIAM Let me start by saying I already have this album from MOV which is a nice copy, I made the leap buying this copy for the cover songs and I was not disappointed, starting with Surrender from one of my favorite bands I need not name than No more No more probably my favorite Aerosmith song they do Money which I was surprised how good it came off just remember these are covers so if your expecting to hear Robin Zander on Surrender you wont but you get a great R&R band doing their favs their way, I was lucky enough to see VR several times they were loud aggressive and entertaining what else could you ask for, for a slow month for releases this one hit it for me, the rest of this album to me is just killer start to finish with a nice acoustic version of Fall to Pieces very nice worth checking out , RIP SW a very underrated song writer and performer

This release has better clarity and is a good mix. Unfortunately, it is missing the grit or bite from earlier releases of I'm Going Home. Rock 'n' roll should be played loud and you can feel it. The new AP release is good but was lighter than I was used to.

Posted Tuesday, August 20, 2024 by Spike Out of all of the albums from the Atlantic 75 Series, 4 was the one I was most excited for, and, I must say, it did not disappoint. My father still has his original copy that he bought in 1981, which still sounds great to this day. However, this version from AP goes above and beyond in terms of sound quality. Lou's vocals are front and center on every track along with the band who hit on all cylinders. The attention to detail, especially with the individualized instruments, is just incredible. This is Foreigner's best album BAR NONE. Even if you're not a fan of the band, I highly...HIGHLY recommend you listen to this bad boy!!!

A few words about the Steven Wilson Atmos mix

Posted Saturday, August 17, 2024 by Mellotronix Chris Squire's bass, which often lacks deep low end on original recordings, is finally nearly perfect--saturated, overdriven, punchy, present, and it ignites the subs with modern sounding low end. Harmony vocals and keys swirl around the Atmos soundfield in 3D with Jon Anderson's lead vocal perfectly balanced in the center channel. The clarity of the hats and cymbals is eye popping. Steve Howe's guitars are often in motion up, down, and sideways, but not in a gimmicky, distracting way. Listen for little details like handclaps and guitar fills moving in different directions above your head. Also, pay attention to the end of Perpetual Change where, basically, two completely different songs come together and weave in and out of each other, Amazing mix! System--Marantz 11.2.4 HT receiver; Marantz stereo power amp (mains); B&W 702 S2 mains; 700 series center (x1) and surrounds (x 4); B&W 663 ceiling (x4); REL subs (x2); Oppo universal disc player.

I forgot I liked this album. All of my recent Rhino pressings have been great, with the special mastering of the original Black Sabbath album being other-worldly.

Then at some future date we revisit all those wonder records and it reminds us why we love this hobby so much. It all new again and it just feels right. The last few days I have been critical listening to the latest Acoustic Sounds Atlantic 75 series - INXS Kick and as you would expect it's high-quality audio / packaging. (Must say was not a big INXS Fan earlier in life - this release changed my stance on this Band) The INXS is next level with its 3D sound signatures and in your face appeal it is a sure winner. This will be on my table for a while as there is a lot to take in and enjoy.

The fine details of vocals and other aspects, like reverb and drums, and the authentic original tone, are all there. The vinyl is nice and quiet on my copy too. A great reissue for a fan and audiophile to have.
