This has to be Stacey Kent's finest album yet. With no less than 16 fantastic interpretations of songs made famous by male icons during Stacey’s adolescence, this album features tracks ranging all the way from “The Best Is Yet To Come” (Tony Bennett), “The Boy Next Door” (Frank Sinatra) to Dizzy Gillespie's “Ooh Shoobee Doo Bee” and James Taylor's “You've Got A Friend.” This is a must-have for any lover of the American popular songbook.

						| Just listened to this album, newly released on 2 lps from Pure Pleasure. IMO this is one of her best yet, both in terms of choice of songs and sound. The sound really is stunning here, similar to Al Schmitts engineering for Diane Krall, very up-front with just a bit of echo. If you have a vivid imagination, you could just about put your arms around her. Unlike, Krall, who I like also, Kent has real vocal chops, a voice, at once childlike but also sophisticated, which I find very appealing and easy on the ears.Fro Kent fans, this is an absolute winner.
