The Beatles Anthology Collection returns in its ultimate form for a global reissue campaign

First released three decades ago, The Beatles' eight-part Anthology TV series reinvented the music documentary. Instead of a standard treatment centered on an outside narrator and talking heads, Anthology featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr candidly telling their own story, with all its complexities and contradictions. It introduced The Beatles to new generations of viewers and listeners and marked the start of a creative and commercial afterlife that continues to this day.

Now, The Beatles Anthology returns in its ultimate form for a comprehensive global release campaign-on screen, on record, and in print. Anthology is a multimedia retrospective project that includes a three-volume set of double albums. The music portion of the expanded set includes a new fourth album, comprising 13 previously unreleased demos, session recordings, and rare tunes.

Coming back bigger and better than ever!

The eight-part TV documentary, originally released in 1995, will celebrate its 30th anniversary exclusively on Disney+ when it hits the streaming TV network on November 26, 2025. Famous for featuring The Fab Four of Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and John Lennon telling their collective story instead of a narrator or talking heads, this anniversary edition has been restored and will add a new ninth episode. This additional episode will include previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage of Starr, Harrison and McCartney between 1994 and 1995 while they worked on the original Anthology release.

The doc's restoration was overseen by Apple Corps' production team, working alongside Peter Jackson's Wingnut Films & Park Road Post teams and Giles Martin, who has crafted new audio mixes for much of the featured music.

The musical part of the project, The Anthology Collection, is also being expanded. Originally released across three double albums of rare tracks curated by George Martin, this reissue will arrive with a new fourth album, Anthology 4. Each set is housed in a triple-gatefold jacket featuring original art, notes by Mark Lewisohn, and restored photos for Anthology 1-3. Anthology 4 comes with track notes written by Kevin Howlett, plus an introduction compiled from 1996 interviews recorded with The Beatles' close friend and adviser Derek Taylor. The outer slipcase features the original Klaus Voorman triptych art.

Curated and restored by Giles Martin, the fourth set of music includes 13 previously unreleased demos, session recordings, and rare tunes. It will also boast new mixes of the Grammy-winning "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love," both refreshed by their original producer, Jeff Lynne, using "de-mixed" Lennon vocals. Furthermore, Anthology 4 presents 26 tracks previously unavailable on vinyl.

This collection of 191 tracks is scheduled for release on November 21, and will be available in deluxe 12LP 180-gram vinyl and other companion formats.
