Sade Adu and her eponymous band have announced a new vinyl box set that collects every Sade album to date.

Throughout six luscious LPs, Sade has written about the great human passions with disarming sincerity and a killer instinct for the smooth. The lady herself was always the star, ensnaring and elusive, with a rare gift for retaining her charms even as she maintained her privacy. But real ones know, Sade is a beloved band and not just a beloved singer, and the contributions of Stuart Matthewman (saxophone/guitar), Andrew Hale (keyboards), and Paul Spencer Denman (bass) should not be dismissed. Now, all six records, each a 180-gram reissue — Diamond Life (1984), Promise (1985), Stronger Than Pride (1988), Love Deluxe (1992), Lovers Rock (2000), and Soldier Of Love (2010) — are available in a crisp new remaster.

For This Far, the band used a slightly unusual remastering process. Working with longtime co-producer Mike Pela and engineer Miles Showell at the famed Abbey Road Studios, Sade began with digital transfers of the original stereo master mixes. They then utilized Showell's restored Neumann VMS80 cutting lathe in what a statement called an "elaborate, half-speed mastering process." This method promises "exceptionally clean and detailed audio whilst remaining faithful to the band's intended sound." No additional digital limiting was used in the mastering process so the six albums benefit from the advantage of extra clarity and pure fidelity, preserving the dynamic range of the original mixes for the very first time.

That same spirit of faithfulness extends to the album jackets, which have been reproduced in exact detail, with authentic paper and printing methods.

Bad, Bad Pressing posted on 05/21/2021 2 Stars I have been listening to this for some time now and the vinyl pressing on my copy is very bad...NOISY. It’s too late and big for me to send it back. I have basically a new turntable and needle so everything is up to par on my end. So disappointed in this. Not just a little bit noisy but a lot. Has a scratch mark made during manufacturing, poor quality. I don’t know who pressed this but it’s bad who ever did it! Nearly $200 for this, the pressing should be treated crucially which it was not. Everything else on this is top notch. Hope your experience is better than mine.

Very well done posted on 05/13/2021 5 Stars Reviewer: Steve Got this in "record" time, in a neat shipping box that had a handle, put it in the closet. Have played every disc but one, every one was perfect and quiet an experience. Glad I made another try at ordering this. The "defect on the box was a tiny dent in the front where the top meets the sides, another one on the back in the same place, some REALLY obsessed type might be bothered, but its nothing, really. Only disappointment, "Punch Drunk" was not on Promise, don't know why this is. But that's it, basically just a really nice addition to my collection. First time I ever heard Sade in analog, her non digitized voice, and its amazing
