Anna Garano & Anals Tekerian - Ansahman

One hundred years after the Armenian Genocide, the alternately haunting and playful melodies of an ancient culture find renewed voice in this melding of Flamenco and Armenian folk with Anna and Anais, who are joined here by renowned musician Kinan Azmeh, on clarinet.

Anna Garano, classical and Flamenco guitarist hailing from Trieste, Italy, has arranged this repertoire of Armenian songs for voice and guitar. Her collaborator in New York, Anaïs Alexandra Tekerian, is an enchanting vocalist who is one third of the acclaimed Armenian a cappella trio Zulal and a resident artist in Alwan's interdisciplinary collective project "1001 Nights."
