Ida Haendel - J.S. Bach Sonatas and Partitas

A new LP recording from Ida Haendel on the Testament label. We are now pleased to announce the release of the J.S.Bach Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin played by Ida Haendel. The recording was made this year in EMI's Abbey Road studios and is a three-LP set. As with all Testament LP releases, this recording is of audiophile quality with full analogue at all points; hand-pressed on 180gm virgin vinyl; pressed at the EMI Hayes pressing plant; individually inspected and packed by hand.

Wonderful Performances; Faults in Recording posted on 05/30/2010 4 Stars Reviewer: Henry These performances rank right up there with the legendary Henryk Szeryng recordings. I sent 1 set back due to mistracking in a few places and surface noise that even my Nitty Gritty cleaning machine could not remove. My replacement set had the mistrack in the very same location. I am able to remove it with multiple washings, but a huge "snap" remains. I am keeping this set as the recording of the sublime Partita in D minor is flawless (my 1st set had noise and mistrackings). The great Chaconne in D minor alone is worth the price of these recordings!
