Posted Friday, August 23, 2024 by Don Allen I bought the P6/Ania package, and was very impressed. I had read that the Ania was a great cartridge, but the Apheta 3 was amazing. The Ania opened my eyes to to what was possible, but it had some qualities that were almost there, but no cigar, so I sprung for the Apheta 3. I am amazed. With this cart, everything fell into place. I highly recommend it. My hunch is that this cart takes us up to the point of diminishing returns, meaning that from this point, small increments of improvement will cost you very significant dollars. I honestly have no complaints about this cart.

Was worried the quality would not be very good due to the low price, but was pleasantly surprised. You would have to spend over $1000.00 to better this product. Manufactured by Pro-Ject for Music Hall. Just buy it, you will not regret the purchase.

Posted Tuesday, December 17, 2019 by Anonymous The CW IV is a huge step up from the previous CW III in all areas especially the midrange treble accuracy. These are the first Klipsch speakers I've considered owning, Roy Delgado's best redo of the heritage line. Jump factor in spades and real bass weight that properly fleshes out rock, blues and jazz music. It brings the performance into your listening room like you've not experienced at this price. Highly recommended.

At one show the supplied table had a brand new Clearaudio Concept MC cartridge, and he went out of his way to call me to tell me that he thought this $1000 cartridge equaled if not bettered the $7000 Lyra. He had listened the the Clearaudio for 3 days, as it broke in, and really loved its midrange accuracy, speed, and overall sound. I bought one and have loved it ever since. Fabulous cartridge.

It's a nice heavyweight T and the graphics are screenprinted with good coverage. I ordered an XL and it's a nice size (not undersized like so may are, but not too big either).

Product was plug-and-play with my Windows 7 Pro PC. Makes my high-res files sound great, and provides superior sonics on streamed audio (highly recommend internet feeds from WWOZ in New Orleans, KPLU (jazz) in Seattle, and KSDS (jazz and blues) in San Diego.

Posted Saturday, February 21, 2015 by Anonymous I bought this after scouring for reviews online and reading universal praise, not only for this item, but all of DB Systems products.

This phono preamp is definitely not a showpiece, and is housed in an unpretentious simple box that has a sort of "prototype" appearance. It's no frills- no nonsense, but what really matters is what it can do.

What this preamp can do is kill giants. Noise floor is super low, and I hate to say it, but it blows away my slightly more expensive Parasound Z Phono. It produces warm, accurate, balanced sound in my relatively inexpensive system (ProJect Debut Carbon and Epos Epic 2 speakers). Also made in the U.S.A by the same guy who engineered it.

Posted Wednesday, November 6, 2013 by Brian This phono cable is exceptionally fragile which is a surprise to me coming from Pro-ject. The ground wire is super, super thin and spade terminals are extremely small and susceptible to dislocating from wire. When I recieved mine it was a demo and the barrell cover on the left terminal will not thread on correctly and stay in place. I used loctite to secure it otherwise when I try to disconnect from rca terminal the barrel comes off but not the rca connector. They are however, very quiet when connections are all secure. Would not replace with same cable. Spend the extra money for a better quality cable.

Posted Thursday, October 18, 2012 by Jeff C - Australia I've just installed one of these on my Rega P3-24. It took about 5 minutes, was easy to set up and works a treat. Because the clearance between the deck and the arm on the Rega is small I had to mount the Qup without the adjustable U mounting bracket. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I also had to add some thin double sided tape to the base of the Qup to fix it to the turntable. By carefully reading all the instructions on the Qup website http://thequp.com I found they had provided info about how mounting on a Rega would be a little different. You do get a slight thunk sound through your speakers when it activates but I think that is acceptable as some run out grooves are very noisy anyway. So if want the extra convenience of automatic arm lift up at the end of a record on a manual TT then I think this is a very neat solution.

Wanted to put 4 under my A/V receiver, but it is too heavy and I already have threaded brass footers on it.

Posted Wednesday, December 28, 2011 by Anonymous The Zephyr moving iron cartridge proves that high performance need not be constrained by high price. Yes there are phono cartridges which sell for 2x to 5x times the price of the Zephyr, but they offer little more in ultimate sound quality. Perhaps a bit more translucent sound or extension at frequency extremes (emphasize a bit). Trackability and mechanical silence are first rate. The Zephyr's design facilitates setup. My Zephyr is mounted in a V.P.I. Classic 3 tonearm/turntable. While I will continue to experiment with other cartridges in the future, I doubt I will find another cartridge which offers all the Zephyr's virtues at so reasonable a price.

Posted Sunday, March 21, 2010 by jbrumley4201 My turntable is set up on a rock fireplace and I would get a good amount of vibration feedback from my subwoofer and speakers, once I installed these underneath I do not notice any vibrations in my cartridge. I can jump up and down right next to my table and it doesn't even phase it. If you have wood floors or elevated floors, this is a must have.

I can't believe it took me so long to discover this thing, since apparently they've been making them in Pittsburgh since 1968! It's like a great kitchen gadget- I couldn't live without a pepper mill or mortar & pestle, but I don't need a motor on them either. Lately I've had incredible luck with rare vintage thrift store finds- NM to Ex+, but filthy. They've been piling up, then I got this thing. It's actually fun to clean them! Farm dirt, lichens, fingerprints, petrified popsicle drips, even Precambrian mollusks dissolve & sink to the bottom, leaving the fluid clear & the label dry. Hold up that 1958 Audio Fidelity copy of Mohammed El-Bakkar's 'Port Said', stare in disbelief at the cover, then say, "Her life is in your hands, dude." But then you must say, "Jesus, man, could you change the channel? Man, come on, I had a rough night, and I hate the f#@%*n' Eagles, man!
