I have listened to all these songs repeatedly as a youth. So I know exactly what each track should sound like from beginning to end. These are different, and for me, not in a good way. Maybe I have such fond memories of these songs, that any change would be unwelcome. I knew what I was buying. I took a chance. I lost. The songs still sound good. But as I said… different.

Excellent mastering … love the extras and the mono tracks. Still packs as much of a punch as it did in 71.

As a life long Erykah Badu fan and of this album in particular, this pressing does not disappoint in any way. Excellent and soulful vocals, good bass and well recorded.
My only ding is that the labels are reversed on each of the 2 lps, so side 1 is really side 2 and side 3 is side 4 on my copy.
It was definitely worth the 6 month backorder wait to get the album.

This is a very good "audiophile quality" recording. The vinyl is perfectly flat and quiet, the music is dynamic, the song choices both listenable and enjoyable. Vanessa has a distinct voice and delivery and sprinkled within is her own brand of soulfulness that could be described as perpendicular to, rather than parallel to the music. (The pimped-out Cadillacs had diamond shaped rear windows, not "diamondS in the back".) Overall, a successful endeavor.

Both LPs are flat and quiet. I’m not sure if this is all analog although it sounds like it. This mono remaster is superb and bass has plenty of punch but no distortion.

This is a great album and the remaster was as expected. Just plain ole good music to listen to and vinyl that was done with care. You won't go wrong by adding this to your collection.

Excellent pressing. Nice packaging. Extremely clear unveiled sonics. Occassional vocal siblence. Dan's vocals are strong, but his back up singer is flat at times. Musicianship is good, although not a lot of excitement. But it is a very pleasing record to listen to because it sounds "real"...as most music today does not. I am glad I purchased this direct-to-disc. It is my first and I will most probably add others to my collection, as it is very nice to hear "real" for a change...
