Extraordinary...

5 Stars
Posted Friday, June 20, 2025 by Guy As I awaited the latest vinyl from Van Morrison, I gave in to temptation and read the various reviews of Remembering Now. Most fell under one of two headings; AI or BS. Do yourself a favor and pay no attention.

This two album set is truly spectacular. As Petey Green would say, "Sit back, put your feets on the hassack and get ready to groove!"

Superb and cool!

5 Stars
Posted Thursday, May 22, 2025 by Wised To fans of electronic music this album is a seminal work. As cool and quirky as in 1969! The clear psychodelic vinyl is a treasure. The pressing is superb, silent background and superb fidelity. A must have for lovers of this genre!

Cooking Vinyl Pressing

5 Stars
Posted Monday, April 21, 2025 by Ron The pressing is excellent. Dead quiet vinyl with great highs and mid range but, a little light in bass which isn't problematic. I had to boost the bass slightly. I've been hoping for a suitable reissue of Tales for quite some time. This one doesn't disappoint.

Beautiful performance

4 Stars
Posted Wednesday, April 9, 2025 by Glenn The performance of these great symphonies is exceptional. I was a bit disappointed by the quality of the pressing -hence the 4 stars. It's good, but not as good as the Analogue Productions and UHQR pressings that I've been buying lately. I guess I'm spoiled.

Great Pressing

5 Stars
Posted Friday, September 20, 2024 by Anonymous I was unsure about this pressing. After all, I am sure this was not a high-volume release. But, when I dropped the stylus, I heard...nothing.

This pressing is very quiet. Very nice. If you are a DC5 fan, add this to your collection.

A few words about the Steven Wilson Atmos mix

5 Stars
Posted Saturday, August 17, 2024 by Mellotronix Chris Squire's bass, which often lacks deep low end on original recordings, is finally nearly perfect--saturated, overdriven, punchy, present, and it ignites the subs with modern sounding low end. Harmony vocals and keys swirl around the Atmos soundfield in 3D with Jon Anderson's lead vocal perfectly balanced in the center channel. The clarity of the hats and cymbals is eye popping. Steve Howe's guitars are often in motion up, down, and sideways, but not in a gimmicky, distracting way. Listen for little details like handclaps and guitar fills moving in different directions above your head. Also, pay attention to the end of Perpetual Change where, basically, two completely different songs come together and weave in and out of each other, Amazing mix! System--Marantz 11.2.4 HT receiver; Marantz stereo power amp (mains); B&W 702 S2 mains; 700 series center (x1) and surrounds (x 4); B&W 663 ceiling (x4); REL subs (x2); Oppo universal disc player.

Not enough stars, quite frankly best the best vinyl record ever made

5 Stars
Posted Wednesday, April 17, 2024 by Wised I thought the Patricia Patrcia Barber's Cafe Blue one step release was the best vinyl ever produced. This one step pressing Of Getz and Gilberto's masterpiece is a religious experience. I own the 33, the 45 and now this one. The 45 RPM version was extraordinary, this one has simply left me without words to adequately describe it, it is simply the best vinyl record ever made. Kudos to Impex Records, a great achievement indeed. Compared to the previous 45....incredible bass, even better soundstage, more transparency, more air, more delicate rendering, more, more, more! I thought the difference would be subtle given the original 45's excellence, it is not! You feel like if you were right in the studio's recording booth all those years ago! Every mouthing of the sax, the ring of the top hat, Astrud softly singing in your ear, it's almost sexual in the most intimate way....WOW

Posted Thursday, March 21, 2024 by William Taylor This is the way a piano should sound. Obviously, whoever recorded this knew how to accomplish the tricky challenge of recording piano. Thelonious never sounded better. This is a fun record and I'm pleased to have the definitive version of it.

5 Stars
Posted Saturday, January 13, 2024 by James Van Morrison has never disappointed me in his long career, this album is no exception. What a pleasant surprise!!!

5 Stars
Posted Sunday, December 31, 2023 by Kevin I had originally purchased this album to cover the amount needed to receive free shipping on an order. Turned out to be my most pleasant surprise purchases of the year. Americana/country/bluegrass with an old school vibe but there is also other influences present in some songs. The recording/ mastering is great, sound stage, separation and her voice is presented beautifully!!! A little surface noise but a good cleaning took care of most of it. Five stars!!!

****Update**** more than a year later and I must say, in the pound for pound enjoyment factor, this may very well be my favorite album released in the last 10 years… maybe 20 ??… I have since bought a couple of the colored variants and autographed copies and have seen Sierra live… absolutely stunning!!! As a connoisseur of what are often considered audiophile pressings mastered by our contemporary mastering geniuses, I am even more so impressed by what is accomplished here! From the qual

Eric Clapton - August Product No: AREP 47736

One My Favorites from Clapton!

5 Stars
Posted Sunday, November 19, 2023 by Anonymous I thought this was a great album even though some of the Clapton faithful seemed to be disappointed in it when originally released. Granted, not in step with his usual style but a top shelf collection of songs in my humble opinion. I got into this release after hearing "It's in the Way that You Use It" from the movie, "The Color of Money". After I brought it home, way back in the mid-80's, there were many tracks as good or better. "Run" and the duo with Tina Turner, "Tearing Us Apart" are awesome! My original copy was worn out, so I bought this one as a replacement. As usual, Acoustic Sounds did not disappoint, and the quality was impeccable. Flat, quiet and rich soundstage! I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased here, and "August" was no exception.
