Blue Note was the home of numerous great Hammond B3 organists throughout the ‘60s, and in 1968 a new talent joined the ranks with the debut album by Reuben Wilson. On Broadway introduced a distinctive stylist whose punchy hard-grooving approach enlivened a diverse set of material including songs made famous by The Drifters ("On Broadway"), Aretha Franklin ("Baby I Love Love"), Marvin Gaye ("Ain't That Peculiar"), and Ahmad Jamal ("Poinciana"). Wilson's sole original tune "Ronnie's Bonnie" is a highlight of the set with its confident strut showcasing the strengths of this dynamic band with Trevor Lawrence on tenor saxophone, Malcolm Riddick on guitar, and Tommy Derrick on drums.

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal.
