Hans Theessink — Analog Retrospective

Limited edition direct metal mastered (DMM) 180-gram imported LP!

Original Analog Master Edition!

Strict one-time pressing limited to 1,500 numbered copies!

Few artists embody authenticity quite like Hans Theessink. With his unmistakable gravelly baritone, masterful guitar work, and unwavering commitment to natural, unprocessed sound, Theessink has spent decades creating music that feels timeless. Analog Retrospective is a celebration of that remarkable journey.

Rather than simply revisiting past successes, Theessink handpicked nine exceptional performances that capture the heart and soul of his artistry. The result is an intimate and musically diverse set, showcasing his gift for blending blues, folk, roots, and Americana into a sound that is uniquely his own.

Joining him throughout the album is longtime collaborator Terry Evans, whose rich, soulful vocals add warmth and depth to seven of the nine tracks. Legendary guitarist Ry Cooder makes special appearances on two selections, lending his unmistakable touch, while bassist Jon Sass proves that even the mighty tuba can swing and boogie with irresistible charm.

This strictly limited and serialized album also captivates the audiophile community with its sound. Hans Theessink's audiophile leanings and discerning ear are partly responsible for this. But above all, it's the sound engineer Christoph Stickel, who enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide for his purist 'Pure Analog Remastering.' He resides in Vienna with a wealth of vintage equipment and extensive expertise. So what could be more natural than commissioning this gifted perfectionist with the — naturally purely analog — reworking and remastering of Theessink's collection of gems? Christoph Stickel has done a superb job. Hans Theessink's distinctive, gruff voice comes across incredibly directly, almost tangible.

Every plucked string, every resonant bass note, every subtle musical detail emerges with remarkable clarity and warmth. Rich in emotion and impeccable in sound, Analog Retrospective is both a fitting tribute to an extraordinary career and a must-have recording for music lovers.
