Its not 180g or 45 RPM, but its as dead quiet and clear as any album that I own. I don't think this album is complete without the third record, as crazy as that may sound...all the songs are fantastic and it flows beautifully with the original two records, The third record is not a gratuitous "add on," like many other remasters. I think they missed the boat when they released the one-step version without the third record. I will humbly stick with this version...

Posted Sunday, February 8, 2026 by Anonymous If you want to hear the earliest rock 'n' roll, get this! MoFi did an excellent job mastering this. The songs span 1949 - 1956 but they all sound acceptable. MoFi obviously did a lot of tweaking on them.

Bono sings the songs at half pace, and without the rock music behind him to mask that, the songs are truly unbearable. I am not a guy to return things, but this is the most returnable thing I have ever purchased. DO NOT BUY THIS BOX SET!

I was struggling with too much sibilance on the high frequencies. I eventually started experimenting with small adjustments on my cartridge setup. It got better. I then replaced my cartridge and my issues went away. I had never had this issue with other albums but I think the very high fidelity was not pairing well with my cartridge and also was revealing minor alignment and VTA issues on my setup. New cartridge is Sumiko Songbird MC high output.

Astral Weeks has always been one of my favorite albums. The vocals, soul, poetry and stunning instrumentation make this a masterpiece. This album has never sounded better. There is so much detail and warmth in his voice with Van front and center in the soundstage and everything in balance. Goosebumps! A stunning musical experience with a gorgeous gatefold jacket. Just like the Moondance release, this is the definitive version of the album.

It has never sounded so fresh, crisp, warm, and detailed. It was like hearing the album for the first time. Spectacular low end and Van is front and center with warmth and depth in his voice. The jacket, audio and all things considered, make this the definitive version of this album. Stunning!

Posted Sunday, January 25, 2026 by Randy This boxed set includes 3 releases of albums currently available (Cookin', Relaxin', and Steamin' - all are 2022 releases pressed at QRP).

The release of Miles appears to use the same plate as the recently released Craft Recordings versions of these albums, which is mastered by Kevin Gray (CR00722-A 43626.1(3)... KPG@CA). The only difference between the AP release and the Craft release appears to be pressing plant. However, the only proof I have is the rice paper QRP sleeve and a statement on the AS website. The jacket appears to be the same as the 1996 AP release of this title.

The release of Workin' appears to be different than the Craft Recordings release from a couple years ago. However, like the Craft release of the same title, Kevin Gray is the mastering engineer on this release. The jacket appears to be the same as the 1996 AP release of this title.

There is plenty of air and space in the soundstage. The cymbals sound so natural. If you are a disappointed owner of the 2008 remix/masters then do yourself a huge favor and upgrade to the AP remasters of the Genesis titles now. I own them all. They are ALL amazing.

I cannot wait for the releases of "Wind and Wuthering" and "Duke". Please consider releasing "And Then There Were Three" too, please!

If you like smooth jazz, dive in, the water's fine! Concord records did a fine job as the vinyl plays completely quiet with the vocals, piano, bass and drums all having a distinct space as you listen. A high-quality recording in my humble opinion and offered at a great price. If you've every enjoyed being in a dark jazz club listening to the best of music, I suggest you buy this! Boz Scaggs has delivered some of the finest music over the years and this is no exception!

You haven't truly experienced the quality of analog sound until you've listened to this album. The presentation is beautiful, with high-quality sound, design, and packaging. Although the price is high, it's well worth the money. I highly recommend this album to anyone who appreciates high-quality music.

Compressed, muffled sound. Under-water sound. Who cares about the picture on the record when the sound is this bad? Stop taking advantage of people.

Why don't more labels release new music on SACD? Whatever, this album is 5 stars all the way. John is a guitar master and his music is quite varied. I could not find a site to preview this album (not on Qobuz or YouTube anyway) so I didn't really know what to expect. I am NOT disappointed. As a modern jazz fan I can find nothing to say other than listen to this album, it will make you smile, tap your foot and finally get up and dance Better still, the song The Beat Goes On throws in a heaping dollop of Blues Rock to get the energy level up a couple of notches.
