This record takes you across many different musical genres, from jazz to fusion to ballad to funk and back again. Just when you think you've already heard the best song on the album, the next scene starts and you realize you were wrong. Yes, I am a huge fan of John McLaughlin, and this record makes me realize why!

Impex did a wonderful job with everything...the sound, the pressing, and the awesome album jacket. Bravo!!

If you like this album, you need to get this, even if you already have the mofi 33 RPM version. You can always sell it on Ebay, as I did.

Not bad...but not what I expected

Posted Wednesday, November 19, 2025 by joey1127 I originally bought this album on CD back in the early 90's when it was first released in the U.S. This specific pressing, the 2-LP Remastered version is...well, not what I was expecting. So much static charge that the records were stuck in the sleeves and full of pops and ticks. A quick spin on the RCM and problem solved! However, the sound quality isn't what I would call improved over the original at all...sounds lightly bloated and HOT. Packaging is beautiful but the sound quality just isn't that much improved over the original. Not sure in this case what the advantage was spreading it out over 2 LPs?

Records were a tad statically charged, but a quick spin on the RCM took care of this. This is a very well done remaster and pressing. I would highly recommend this one if you want an open and airy sounding copy of Under The Pink!!!

Posted Wednesday, November 19, 2025 by joey1127 For being a run-of-the-mill mass-pressing, this one is a winner! Came out of the shrink sounding fantastic with hardly any static, pop's, or ticks. Sound Quality is above average and is as good as my first U.S. CD pressing. A quick spin on a proper RCM turns this release whisper quiet. If you want THE MEMORY OF TREES on vinyl, this is the pressing to get...and get it soon because once these are gone, they are GONE. I'm a fan of everything Enya does so...the music is killer!

Posted Sunday, November 16, 2025 by Cal Liedtke This MFSL One-Step 45 rpm pressing blows away all other versions including the Rhino High Fidelity KEVIN GRAY cut. Yes - these are fighting words because Kevin's all analogue system is second to none. What makes this version a cut above is that is is cut at 45 rpm. There is real space between the instruments. Stevie's voice is elevated, centered, and forward. The bass thumps. My copy (#464) is flat and dead quiet. I look forward to having shoot outs with my friends comparing other versions including the Rhino but IMO this 45 rpm version wins hands down.

Close to perfection

Crystal clear mids and heights (sometimes a bit too much fior me) also vocals and piano are perfect. But the bass is muddy in some places and the bass drum is lighter than it should be at the same time. Separation and soundstage is excellent. **** 1!2

An epic record for a epic live show

I listen to the "CD quality" stream quite a lot, and that now seems muddied and compressed compared to this. Instrument separation here is fantastic. It really does sound like I'm amongst the musicians playing their instruments rather than just listening to a track. This record really puts the digital stream version in its place, as this is superior in every way. The streaming version almost sounds like FM Radio by comparison.

What floored me is the level of detail. I am constantly hearing things I had not heard before at all. For example in Prelude Part 2, I am keenly aware of Reggie Lucas's jamming during Pete Cosey's solo. There are parts where I didn't even know he was playing before. All of the little side notes are elevated so that nothing is missed. This record does justice to this special part of Miles Davis's career.

I own others copies ( Sony - stereo - UHQR 33 1/3 rpm - UHQR 45 rpm ) The bass is very accurate. I hear more details in general. I already did not compare to UHQR 33 1/3 version and I will update my review later. I compare to the blue vinyl version and I did not notice any difference

Are there different tiers of quality at QRP, reflected at the price point? So I either accept this Lp with a warp or get my money back. LP with a warp it is. Something is going on at QRP. Lately I've been getting warped records from them.
