Booming bass to shake your head

This record makes them sound positively Jamaican. The bass is a mile wide, and all else is in proportion. And such a clean pressing... ... incredible. I might buy a spare.

Good Music. Challenged Acoustics

If I was putting together a beginning album inventory for a start up Classic Rock AM radio station I'd grab this release happily. However, for careful listening this one falls short. Sound quality is very good when just a single instrument or voice is playing. But when the whole band comes in everything gets mushed together and loses definition. My guess as a lay person is that, for commercial reasons, one too many songs were put on each side of the album. It may be that in order to squeeze everything onto the record, they squeezed/compressed the life out of the music.

Posted Wednesday, September 23, 2026 by Barry It is DEAD quiet vinyl (almost no surface noise whatsoever all 4 sides) I have never heard Four Seasons feel so alive or vibrant. Of course credit should be given to the performance itself. It may be a cliche thing for audiophiles to say "it feels like the music is being performed live the room" but it holds true with this release. Great work AP.

This 45 is wonderful. Clear separation of instruments, especially the double bass, which features prominently compared to the other releases where it sounded jumbled into the mix. The gatefold is nice too, featuring photos by Jim Marshall of Wes,.

It is one of a few records within that 45 collection that crumbled when removed from storage. Years of watching with occasional research as to a re-release. Just when I wasn't looking, this gem appeared. Out of a rating of 100 (best), I give the entire album a 75. Not ever hearing the remaining tracks, I was quite surprised at the quality of sound and lyrics. "Mongoose Lives"!

The singing and backup music are fantastic but the first second I put down the stylus, I heard cracks and pops from the first to the third track on side A, same on side B. It was unbearable so I stopped playing the first disc and put it back into sleeve, not bothering the second disc. I did clean the record twice on Humminguru before playing. I'm overseas so I didn't bother to return it. I wasted 40 bucks.

Pure Analog Done Right — Following Doug Sax’s Footsteps

Posted Sunday, August 23, 2026 by Mark I don’t own these yet, but based on the mastering trends I’ve heard from Gray and Grundman over the years, their polite chains consistently strip the life out of the music. That “audiophile-polite” approach cuts the balls out of the energy and rounds off the bite that classic jazz and blues actually needs. Combined with their polite mastering philosophy and the increasingly questionable sources being used today — often hi-res files derived from some analog tape — I’m even less interested in that direction, especially after the MoFi/Music Direct era showed how vague source descriptions can be. This Bluesville Series isn’t cut through their chains. It follows in the footsteps of Doug Sax’s philosophy: a pure, all-analog chain that preserves the attack, the tape texture, and the raw midrange presence that defines this genre. If you like blues, this is probably the best AAA remastering you can get today.

Ten tracks of some of the best blues guitar and soulful vocals you'll ever hear, PLUS the first of his releases to be on vinyl! If I hadn't watched Chad's weekly update on YouTube, I would have missed it, so I owe him one! This vinyl is 180g, quiet as a church and great music from start to finish. The latest batch was pressed at QRP so that should be the last incentive you need to add a copy to your collection! Don't miss out!

In fact two of the four records I order on this order were warped and one of the the 3 records I purchased on my last order was warped. They replaced the one form the previous order but not this one and the other warped record from this order citing that the warp did not affect play. Instead of sending out new copies, they simply refunded my money. Ok. Cool. I guess. Not what I wanted but ok. When I asked them if I should just reorder, they said I could but that they would not accept a return if there was an issue. They suggested that I seek out a graded copy from an online marketplace. If purchasing brand new is not the end all and be all of "graded" copies, I don't know what is. At any rate, It seems they rather not deal with me so I'll take my business somewhere else like they suggested. Too bad because I'm really happy with the good copies of wha
