Posted Thursday, July 30, 2026 by gcmusiclover I have to say hearing the Beach Boys' music for years, I've never heard an entire album of theirs except a Greatest Hits lp, for years I've heard about Pet Sounds but only knew the hits and could never find a clean copy out in the wild, so when this version was announced I decided to get it. I was NOT disappointed! this one- step sounds amazing! quite vinyl and just hearing the subtle musical chords and instruments in background sound fantastic, I'm so happy Chis found this mono mix. Brian Wilson was a genius you can hear the influences he borrows from on this record, from Phil Spector, Motown and Burt Bacharach (song arrangements), the two instrumentals are masterpieces! I can imagine if 'Let’s Go Away For Awhile' had lyrics it would've been a big hit for Dionne Warwick or Dusty Springfield. So happy to have this as my first introduction to PET SOUNDS!!!!

This title has a diverse range of tracks that are appealing in different ways. Everything from excellent vocals to guitar leads, bass leads, instrumentals, great sax, and orchestral horns are distinct. Crystal- clear separation and a real listening pleasure! Flat, quiet vinyl housed in a quality, gate-fold jacket. All three titles are welcome additions to my collection!

If you take an Alan Parsons Project classic, half-speed master it at 45rpm and press it on two discs of 180g vinyl, you get pure pleasure for fans of their music! After receiving this edition in the usual perfect condition we've come to expect from Acoustic Sounds, both discs were played in their entirety. The vinyl is flat, without a ripple, quiet without an unwanted sound and delivered the best version of these tracks I've ever heard! I'm really pleased with the new APP releases and glad I made the decision to buy all three at once! Get 'em before they're gone!!

As a huge fan of the blues, I'm proud to add it to my vinyl collection! Joe Bonamassa did a stellar job putting this together and producing it with Josh Smith. Wow, three, 180g vinyl discs of B.B.'s best! The packaging is top- shelf, and the enclosed booklet is full of fabulous pictures. Playback is crisp, clear with a quiet background. The vocals are sharp as is every guitar note! I saw B.B. King in the past and wish he was still here but I'm sure he's smiling down on this one!

The packaging features a high-quality cardboard sleeve, the discs bear laser-etched labels, and the sound is incredibly vivid and true-to-life. This is, without a doubt, the best disc set currently available on the market. I highly recommend that fellow music enthusiasts invest in a set to truly savor the richness of analog audio. You will not be disappointed by the substantial cost, as I believe this collection is built to last and will provide years of listening pleasure. I forget what happened to my original Masterworks 1980 vinyl, but I lived with the CD for probably 30 years. Then this one from Real Gone Music arrived last year (2025). What a joy to hear all the nuances of Terry Riley's music machine. One of the best remastering of an LP I've ever heard.

Posted Monday, January 12, 2026 by CliffC This is so refreshing, a newly released album available on SACD, No waiting 25 years to hear superb modern jazz. Why don't more labels release new music on SACD? Whatever, this album is 5 stars all the way. John is a guitar master and his music is quite varied. I could not find a site to preview this album (not on Qobuz or YouTube anyway) so I didn't really know what to expect. I am NOT disappointed. As a modern jazz fan I can find nothing to say other than listen to this album, it will make you smile, tap your foot and finally get up and dance Better still, the song The Beat Goes On throws in a heaping dollop of Blues Rock to get the energy level up a couple of notches.

My mac c2800 is usually set to +1 for bass but there is plenty of it on these 2 albums. i turned the bass down to zero. very quiet vinyl, low noise floor as some vinyl has. very very quiet. the 2nd lp is demo versions of his songs. very nice change and sounds just as good as the main LP. happy.

Posted Thursday, December 18, 2025 by greg EDIT OF REVIEW.. noticed after each side, a LOT of gunk was built up on my Sumiko Starling cart ($2k cartridge) and had cleaned off after each side. Today i said "lets listen for the 2nd time" and it WAS BETTER. the quieter tracks with her voice, and guitar were much better. Lovely sound WITHOUT so many "snap-carackles-pops". Gonna keep it. FIRST REVIEW: great sound on this white vinyl double album, made in Germany (usually had good luck with Germany lps), WHEN it's not a quiet passage, or between tracks. Thought maybe it was first few tracks. then maybe first side, then maybe the 2nd lp would be better. nope. Great soundstage, imaging, overall mastering was nice, but the incessant pops and crackles make it sound like the vinyl was 30 years old, having been slid in and out of paper sleeves, every day. Gonna send back and may try the black vinyl.

Obviously, the performance/song choice is the same on both formats, but the sonics on the vinyl reissue improve upon the original SACD in every way. BTW, the pressing is super-quiet. Just buy it before it's no longer available !

Posted Thursday, December 4, 2025 by John This is a contender for Jazz reissue of the year IMHO. The fidelity is absolutely phenomenal! Smokes the original pressing. Musically, this is Benny Maupins' "Jewel", in the truest sense of the word. It's sublime modal jazz of the highest degree. There aren't many records of this caliber. If you like Nathan Davis, Sahib Shihab, Jimmy Heath (and the Heath Brothers) , Harold Land, well you get the idea. Such a relaxing, gorgeous recording on quiet, flat vinyl. Superb job on the cover reproduction as well. Much nicer than the original early 1970's original. Nice glossy laminated gatefold jacket.
