Love this pressing !

5 Stars
Posted Wednesday, December 24, 2025 by Greg Just got it from A.S. a few days ago, glad I got it as it's already sold out again. Saw this as a good record to get in a YouTube video discussing good sounding records to get. Few bucks more for the yellow vinyl looks good, and very good mastering and pressing. Very quiet sound floor, almost zero pops and clicks in quiet passages and between tracks. Very nice, laid back country pop. Nice acoustic guitar and her voice is great

2nd listen.. BETTER!, FIrst too many snaps, crackles and pops..

Posted Thursday, December 18, 2025 by greg EDIT OF REVIEW.. noticed after each side, a LOT of gunk was built up on my Sumiko Starling cart ($2k cartridge) and had cleaned off after each side. Today i said "lets listen for the 2nd time" and it WAS BETTER. the quieter tracks with her voice, and guitar were much better. Lovely sound WITHOUT so many "snap-carackles-pops". Gonna keep it. FIRST REVIEW: great sound on this white vinyl double album, made in Germany (usually had good luck with Germany lps), WHEN it's not a quiet passage, or between tracks. Thought maybe it was first few tracks. then maybe first side, then maybe the 2nd lp would be better. nope. Great soundstage, imaging, overall mastering was nice, but the incessant pops and crackles make it sound like the vinyl was 30 years old, having been slid in and out of paper sleeves, every day. Gonna send back and may try the black vinyl.

Posted Tuesday, December 16, 2025 by greg cool funky jazz, didn't even realize it was live at first (even though says "live" on the lp cover) as i was spinning lots of recent lp's that just came in. very low noise floor, great pressing. One of if not my favorite Grant Green lp's. very happy with this pressing.

...another not-so-great pressing

3 Stars
Posted Wednesday, November 19, 2025 by joey1127 This is a hit-or-miss pressing. Side A is muddy sounding, Side B is better sounding, Side C...muddy, and Side D...muddy, but over all the entire pressing is just not that great sounding for a re-master. Sounds like when CBS tried to do their own version of half-speed mastering and it came out sounding dark. HF is rolled off considerably. This is such a great album, my first press U.S. CD in the box with the polaroid's, charm, and map sounds far better. What is going on with these sub-par pressings?

Best Monaural Recording

5 Stars
Posted Wednesday, November 19, 2025 by Andy Rogulich This pressing is outstanding. I have never heard a monaural recording sound this wonderful. I highly recommend it for everyone to add it to their collection. Kevin Gray did an outstanding job!

Various Artists - Soul Christmas Product No: AROGR 050
Available: BackOrdered
Category: Vinyl Record
Label: Run Out Groove

Excellent Christmas Album

5 Stars
Posted Tuesday, November 4, 2025 by Anonymous I was concerned about what the sound quality would be like on this one. I own it on CD, and it is probably my favorite Christmas Album. It sounds like the master tapes to me, even though it is bass shy. If you've never heard this album, you need to buy it.

Phil Collins - No Jacket Required Product No: CRHI 810635

Really bright sounding

4 Stars
Posted Saturday, September 13, 2025 by Jimmy James Very BRIGHT sounding transfer. Like in your face bright. I would have thought the drums and bass could be punched up a bit more and the treble/high frequencies could have been equalized down. Still good just not as good as it could have been.

Genesis - Foxtrot Product No: CAPA 027 SA
Available: BackOrdered
Category: Hybrid Stereo SACD
Label: Analogue Productions (Atlantic 75 Series)

Very good re-issue

Posted Friday, September 5, 2025 by joey1127 This release sounds decent enough. It does seem to sound different than I remember the original pressing sounding, a tad softer in the lower end...but it is a 50+ year old recording so the fact that we can even get a fresh release on SACD, it's decent enough.

Mr. Big - Lean Into It Product No: CEVXS 9820 SA

Joni Mitchell - Hejira Product No: AMOBUD 053
Available: BackOrdered
Category: Vinyl Box Sets
Label: Mobile Fidelity

Nearly fooled by Mobile Fidelity, again.

Posted Tuesday, July 29, 2025 by guy This is not a fully analog album. This is MoFi at it, again. They didn’t fully disclose the DSD step until the 2022 controversy pulled back the curtain. It turned out almost every One-Step release had been passing through a DSD transfer, unbeknownst to much of the audiophile world. And for someone like you, who understands how delicate cartridge voicing and mastering lineage affect playback character, it’s a frustrating breach of transparency.

A bit different

3 Stars
Posted Monday, June 23, 2025 by Reggie I have listened to all these songs repeatedly as a youth. So I know exactly what each track should sound like from beginning to end. These are different, and for me, not in a good way. Maybe I have such fond memories of these songs, that any change would be unwelcome. I knew what I was buying. I took a chance. I lost. The songs still sound good. But as I said… different.

Available: BackOrdered
Category: 180 Gram Vinyl Record
Label: Decca (Pro-Ject Audio)

Beautiful performance

4 Stars
Posted Wednesday, April 9, 2025 by Glenn The performance of these great symphonies is exceptional. I was a bit disappointed by the quality of the pressing -hence the 4 stars. It's good, but not as good as the Analogue Productions and UHQR pressings that I've been buying lately. I guess I'm spoiled.

Bad Company - Straight Shooter Product No: CAPA 037 SA
Available: BackOrdered
Category: Hybrid Stereo SACD
Label: Analogue Productions (Atlantic 75 Series)

Why different sources?

4 Stars
Posted Monday, February 24, 2025 by Alex First off, this SACD sounds wonderful. Balanced, the drums smack you in the face, bass is tight and present, and the golden pipes of Paul Rodgers are front and center as they should be.

However, a big question is why the SACD release of Straight Shooter was sourced from a copy of the master tape, while the vinyl version was from the original master tape? Most of the Atlantic 75 series have the same source material from the vinyl and SACD. Would be very curious to know the answer to this question.

Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues Product No: AVIR 5707106
Available: BackOrdered
Category: Vinyl Record
Label: Virgin

Awesome Blues!!

5 Stars
Posted Sunday, January 5, 2025 by Larry H. I've been a fan of Gary Moore since the Thin Lizzy days and had the CD version of "Still Got the Blues" since 1990. I just got the vinyl version as a Christmas present and now I know what I was missing! This release is excellent! First, the album is silent with no hiss or pop and lays perfectly flat on my turntable. Every track has clear separation with distinct layering of vocals, guitar, horns, keyboard and drums. The title track sounds "3D" and Gary Moore's vocals, and stellar guitar work are almost overwhelming! Sadly, he has been gone for many years, but his music still lives LARGE! Man, I love this record!! Thank you, Acoustic Sounds, for always offering the best in vinyl and making sure we get it safely!!
