These are different, and for me, not in a good way. Maybe I have such fond memories of these songs, that any change would be unwelcome. I knew what I was buying. I took a chance. I lost. The songs still sound good. But as I said… different.

It's good, but not as good as the Analogue Productions and UHQR pressings that I've been buying lately. I guess I'm spoiled.

My first choice is still the AP 45 rpm: a clearer separation and balance of the instruments - La Faro's bass really benefits in this respect. A crisper clearer more spacious sound overall.

Posted Sunday, January 5, 2025 by Larry H. I've been a fan of Gary Moore since the Thin Lizzy days and had the CD version of "Still Got the Blues" since 1990. I just got the vinyl version as a Christmas present and now I know what I was missing! This release is excellent! First, the album is silent with no hiss or pop and lays perfectly flat on my turntable. Every track has clear separation with distinct layering of vocals, guitar, horns, keyboard and drums. The title track sounds "3D" and Gary Moore's vocals, and stellar guitar work are almost overwhelming! Sadly, he has been gone for many years, but his music still lives LARGE! Man, I love this record!! Thank you, Acoustic Sounds, for always offering the best in vinyl and making sure we get it safely!!

David Paich's piano solo on Sunset Grill sounded like he was playing in the room! Every track is crystal clear. I have an earlier vinyl copy and one on CD, but this release is by far, the best. When it becomes available again, don't miss it!

Classic Electronic Masterpiece

Posted Monday, December 23, 2024 by Rick H This album was a real mainstay on my turntable in the 70s. Electronic wizardry before anyone ever heard of EDM. The synthesizer/keyboard work ranks as genius even today, almost 40 years after its release. The influence of this album on so many later works is quite evident. I am thrilled to get a new pressing of this for my collection. The mix seems a little light, de-emphasizing the bass a bit too much. The pressing is OK, done on lightweight vinyl. A few too many surface scratches from the paper inner sleeve, but I am happy to live with it.
