My mac c2800 is usually set to +1 for bass but there is plenty of it on these 2 albums. i turned the bass down to zero. very quiet vinyl, low noise floor as some vinyl has. very very quiet. the 2nd lp is demo versions of his songs. very nice change and sounds just as good as the main LP. happy.

Posted Wednesday, December 31, 2025 by CD I own too many records and the fault in that is the fact that many records take at least a few spins to be appreciated. This is one of them. I fell love in love with Caelan’s first record after the first listen. This album is much different. There is so much more here and it takes time to really appreciate what is presented. It’s not just Caelan and a Bass player. The synergy between musicians is fabulous. Sound quality is great! Don’t believe Micheal Fremer’s liner notes. Great record!!

Posted Monday, December 29, 2025 by Jay G So, I did not buy this from acoustic sounds (bought directly from Ledisi lol). Thought it would be ok for me to speak on “for Dinah” as I have the record and well I’ve bought a lot of stuff from here also…lol.

With this being said…WOW this is an incredible recording! She has a wonderful flow with all the songs. The producer did a great job with excellent musical balance. I have to say I’ve listened to the record and the Hi Res audio version on Qobuz. I have to say the record just had so much more “soul” to it. The style music truly does work well with Vinyl.

I would not hesitate at all to recommend this recording! In fact, I emailed acoustic sound to see if they could create an SACD version! Especially if they can instill the warmth and musicality that I get from the Vinyl!

Posted Sunday, December 28, 2025 by Alan I'm upgrading from a Fluance RT-85 and the SL-1500 is well worth the money. Setup was easy. Compared to the Fluance this is a beast. Very stable even with the Ortofon 2M Red it sounds great. I wanted this for Christmas everyone was sold out but Chad came through! The only person that had therm in stock. I ordered in Silver as that's the Technics proper color. My Fluance had a major issue and they don't stand behind their products post warranty.Technics has a proper website where you can order any parts you could possibly need in the future. Thanks to Chad I'm going back to listening to all my records with new enthusiasm. Now I just need to decide what is the best cartridge to upgrade to. Thanks again Chad.

The two reels inside were changed to gold and black instead of the Red and Silver as printed on the outside of the box reel #1 (Red) and reel #2 (Silver). The sound quality is acceptable, not too bad. I still expected a product exactly as pictured, with the laser-engraved NAGRA logo on the reels, not a label sticker on the reel that says "certificate of authenticity".

Posted Wednesday, December 24, 2025 by Andrew I like the recording, but did not expect the panning to be so radical: it sounds like as if my speakers are turned not to me, but L to the left and R to the right, making a huge gap in the middle... I can't blame the recording though, especially that Coleman's alto and Cherry's trumpet are in the same channel, probably it was done historically and you can't separate them. However, the sound realism is great: the bass is deep and clear, cymbals are distinct yet not agressive, and trumpet's surdine is full of harmonics (or overtones)...

Saw this as a good record to get in a YouTube video discussing good sounding records to get. Few bucks more for the yellow vinyl looks good, and very good mastering and pressing. Very quiet sound floor, almost zero pops and clicks in quiet passages and between tracks. Very nice, laid back country pop. Nice acoustic guitar and her voice is great

Also the attach of the sound is quite realistic, but what is the most exciting and unexpected for me is the brushes! You can literally hear them as if someone is playing in your room. Highly recommended record even for the full price you won't be disapointed.

Would be 5 star other than a hint of faint noise floor sound in the quietest passages. But very faint. It's on 2 lps at 33.3rpm so the grooves are not compressed vs crammed onn1 (dont think it could be). Very happy with this purchase

Posted Wednesday, December 24, 2025 by Greg Had Zep 2, 4, a scratchy copy of Zep 3 from the 80s, and had picked up those new LPs recently since I've bought new stereo equipment.. had an old cassette recording of Presence I'd made borrowing a buddies LP way back, but forgot that Presence, even not the one high on the list, is a darn good record. And this Jimmy Page remaster is really well done. Good pressing, very quiet between tracks, nice separation, and all these recent ones I've got were made in Germany. For $30? I'm darn pleased.

But so happy I picked it up, very quiet sound floor in the soft passages, like when just a few stand up bass strums and light piano with the brushing of the snare. Just cool jazz that I like, early Miles and Colrane for instance. But lovely piano too. Very happy with this and all the Blue Note represses.

Posted Tuesday, December 23, 2025 by J.B. I grew up listening to this album. A lot. As good as the 1995 Avenue Gold Collection (24K gold) CD was, this one is far superior. Detail and spectral balance are both excellent, without being at all edgy-sounding. Very natural and reminiscent of the original 1976 UA vinyl (which I still have a NM copy of). In fact, something in the vocal detail on "Why Can't We Be Friends?" I never picked up on before caught my attention on the first listen of this SACD. Very highly recommended!
