Boz Scaggs & Smooth Jazz?!? OH YEAH!

Posted Thursday, January 22, 2026 by Larry H. I've been a Boz fan since the 70's and received his latest release as a Christmas gift. To get to the point, it's excellent! If you like smooth jazz, dive in, the water's fine! Concord records did a fine job as the vinyl plays completely quiet with the vocals, piano, bass and drums all having a distinct space as you listen. A high-quality recording in my humble opinion and offered at a great price. If you've every enjoyed being in a dark jazz club listening to the best of music, I suggest you buy this! Boz Scaggs has delivered some of the finest music over the years and this is no exception!

Saw this man at Mindi Abair's 1st Annual Wine + Music Festival in Punta Gorda, Florida. Crowd, and me, loved him. Must have this new recording. First, because I'm an Okie born and bred. Second, s'got that Tulsa Sound. He's gone; but I'm sure JJ Cale would give this two thumbs up!!

Outstanding Americana music (Folk/Blues with horns would be another description).Blown away by the feeling in the songs and the sincerity of the whole thing. In the rotation for a long while to come. Excellent silent vinyl surfaces enhance the listening experience.
