Impeccable

Astounding sonics, depth, eerie presence, transportive, not only can you see the cigarette packages littering the tables at the Village Vanguard, you can see the brands: Luckies, Camels—you get the drift, all that mood and atmosphere underpinned with some of the greatest musicianship of the 20th century. A no brainer, and among the 22 discs, not a pop, click—nothing but blissful sound waves. Kudos Analogue Productions!

This is one of those box set that everyone should have. You don't have to like jazz, or Bill Evans to enjoy this box set, if you like good music you would love it.

Not cheap but wow. If you're a Bill Evans fan or just appreciate great jazz and great sound this box set won't disappoint despite the price tag. I waited many years before finally pulling the trigger on this set and I'm blown away by the quality of the recordings. Thank you Acoustic Sounds!

I wanted this box set for years and when I finally

achieved that goal I felt somewhat deflated for some

reason. Once I put waltz for Debby and then

explorations, it all fell into place and I was blown away

with it all. The sound is phenomenal and you really are

in the room with Bill and the gang.

I think the reason I felt deflated was the worry it won’t

live up to my expectations which it did and then some.

You NEED This- Has Some New Kevin Gray Masters

I don't know why this has not generated more interest-but I heard Kevin Gray in an interview last week mention that he recut (or remastered, not clear which or both) some of these recently at Cohearent. So while some of the albums in this edition are the Hoffman/ Gray Acoustech versions from past iterations of this box, a few are fresh new KG products. They are clearly identified in the dead wax. Have not had the chance to A/B them. But even if they had "just" been the old editions, this would be well worth having! Perfect.

The ultimate collection from one of the most important artists of all time

The music, the mastering, the pressing, the sleeves - everything is just PERFECT here. These are the most seminal recordings from one of jazz's most important artists, remastered by today's preeminent mastering engineers, at 45rpm & pressed on vinyl as silent as any UHQR. Chad's mantra "buy now or cry later" has never been truer. This box was going for 3x retail value mere months ago - don't let this slip away, get it before it's gone. Who knows if we will ever see this 22 disc set released again?

I nearly bled from my eyes as to what I had to pay for this second hand still sealed. Then I listened to it, and it is epic. This is the kind of box set that when everyone is out of the house for the day I sit down with and listen to back to back. This is why you spend good money on hifi gear to get to listen to something like this.

Thought long and hard about this one. For me, it was a lot of money. But, a year later, I can honestly say that I listen to these discs more than any in my collection. The mastering and sound quality is excellent right across the collection. Sunday At The Village Vanguard is the best I've ever heard it sound. Likewise Portrait In Jazz. Beautiful sound, great pressings, high quality album jackets. If you love Bill Evans, this collection is a must have.

This collection is to be cherished. Analogue Productions generated these vinyl records as close to perfect as is humanly possible. Every note struck by the players is presented flawlessly. Absolutely well worth the $600 price tag. If you love jazz piano and you love Bill Evans...this set is IT!!!

I am overwhelmed with the care and attention to detail that went into this project. The pursuit of perfection in every aspect from the labels to the jacket, to the booklet and the box. All of the work to produce an outstanding collection of Bill Evans is evident in every aspect of this project. But above all is the sound. In the over used but understated phrase "It is like having the band right in front of you". The detail of every instrument is just simply there. It is no effort to close your eyes and place each member of the group. I am not a collector of albums. I buy music to listen and go that Zen place in my mind. Every album in this set is simply awesome. If you are a Jazz fan, a fan of Bill Evans this Analog Productions is a master work that will not disappoint.

exquiste - overworldly presentation of Evans Work

These recordings are impeccable. The presence and imaging are so vibrant and engaging. Present is all the work with Scott Lafaro, not just the Vanguard sessions. A great book. Not inexpensive, but a stellar piece of musical history that is incredibly well done. Buy it before it goes out of print.

Comparing the SNatVV with the MOFI One Step - the Mofi has slightly more - but in your face detail whereas the AP sounds well balanced - just like it would sound in a club - with the wine glasses clinking.

Demand this gets reprinted and buy it

I have been a life long Evans fan. Was not a able to pick up some of the individually realeased 45s so when the box set came out I was one of the first in line and I wasn't disappointed. The originals were well recorded and the 45s are stunning. The booklet give a great history on Bill.

For any Evans fan this is a must have.

My wife entered my listening room the other day, she usually don`t do that, and ask what are you playing? A record from that big box over there I said, why are you asking? I have never heard such a sound down here she said; the soundstage are so big, so clear and natural, I feel that the mucisians are here in the room, this is incredible she add. After that she stayed in the room with me for another record and she said nothing when she left with a big smile.
