David Bowie — Heathen (2025 Remaster)
David Bowie's Heathen (2025 Remaster) gives fresh clarity to his acclaimed 2002 album. It marks Bowie's commercial and creative return to his 1970s art-rock sound and his first full album collaboration with producer Tony Visconti in 22 years. The release includes guest performances by Pete Townshend and Dave Grohl.
Recorded in a residential studio in upstate New York, it reminded Visconti of his time with Bowie in Berlin in the 1970s.
"There was no control room. The console was at one end of the studio and the band was placed at the other end," Visconti said. "The acoustics were quite live and from my experience of making 'Heroes' at Hansa Studios in Berlin, in the huge Grand Hall (known as Meistersaal recording hall), I wanted to make these acoustics work for us."
