Yes — Live At Knoxville Civic Auditorium

Yes — Live At Knoxville Civic Auditorium is a 3LP vinyl release documenting the landmark November 15, 1972 concert by the British prog rockers. Featuring Yes with their classic lineup, Yes was at the top of its game here. Jon Anderson was in prime voice, and Steve Howe (guitar), Chris Squire (bass), Rick Wakeman (keyboards), and Alan White (drums) were absolute masters of prog musicianship and instrumental interplay.

Almost everything on Knoxville stems from The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge. With their extreme use of dynamics, songs such as "Heart of the Sunrise," "I've Seen All Good People," "Roundabout," "And You And I," and "Yours Is No Disgrace" begged to be played live, and what you hear on these tracks (and also heard on Yessongs, which was mostly recorded later in the tour) is the kind of live energy that can't be captured in a studio.
