Olivia Rodrigo's highly anticipated third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, follows her critically acclaimed LPs Guts and Sour. The three-time Grammy Award winner releases the album on June 12, 2026.

Rodrigo recorded the new album with producer Daniel Nigro, the long-time collaborator who worked with her on both Sour in 2021 and Guts in 2023. The partnership has defined Rodrigo's studio sound to date, blending pop songwriting with alternative and rock influences that have resonated strongly with younger audiences worldwide. Across her first two albums she has sold more than 36 million records worldwide and collected 14 Grammy Award nominations.

The title of You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love apparently hits the nail on the head in terms of what its songs are about, with Rodrigo telling British Vogue ahead of its release that it's an album of "sad love songs." "I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them," she explained to the publication.

"I felt a similar way about falling in love, that the second I'm in a really great relationship, I'm gonna start feeling good about myself, and this stuff is going to fall into place," she added. "But it just doesn't work like that."
