With 2, 3, 4, master drummer and bandleader Shelly Manne assembles a quartet of rare chemistry and quiet authority. Featuring the commanding tenor of Coleman Hawkins, the elegant touch of Hank Jones, and the rock-solid foundation of George Duvivier, this session is a masterclass in interplay, restraint, and musical conversation.

Hawkins, one of the true architects of modern tenor saxophone, brings a warm, authoritative voice, while Jones' piano lines shimmer with clarity and grace. Beneath it all, Duvivier's bass anchors the group with unerring precision.

At the center is Manne, whose drumming is the very definition of taste and control. Rather than dominate, he shapes and guides, coloring the music with subtle textures, crisp accents, and an unshakeable sense of time. 2, 3, 4 stands as a testament to the beauty of collaboration at the highest level.
