Highlighting trailblazing blues musicians from legendary labels

It's the Blues Man! is guitarist, harmonica player, singer, and songwriter, Eddie Kirkland's 1962 debut, on which he is backed by saxophonist King Curtis and his band. The powerhouse recording expertly showcases Kirkland's raw vocal delivery and in-the-pocket guitar style. Released in partnership with Acoustic Sounds, the album has been (AAA) remastered from the original tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. A tip-on jacket with obi completes the package.

Eddie Kirkland was an American electric blues guitarist, harmonicist, singer, and songwriter. Kirkland toured with John Lee Hooker from 1949 to 1962 and pursued a successful solo career, recording for RPM Records, Fortune Records, Volt Records, and King Records, sometimes under the stage name Eddie Kirk. Kirkland continued to tour, write and record albums until his death in February 2011.
