Françoise Hardy rose to fame in the 1960s as one of France's most beloved singer-songwriters, known for her poetic lyrics and understated vocal style. Her impact on both French and international pop culture has been profound, influencing generations of artists worldwide. The five years between 1962-67 remain an exceptional moment in her career, the one when she exploded in the eyes of a generation that was born during or just after World War II, the generation that would be part of the May 1968 Paris protests.

Writing for Pitchfork, Hazel Cillis noted La Maison Dù J'ai Grandi ". . . achieved a "baroque sound [..] that matched the depth of her sorrow and its complexities," and became "cohesive in sound and subject matter." This reissue includes seven non-album bonus tracks, including "Si C'est Ça" recorded live in Paris. All tracks have been fully remastered.
