AC/DC — Back In Black
Limited edition black & white marbled color vinyl
Limited black & white marble vinyl edition. Released in July 1980, Back in Black was the first AC/DC album recorded without former lead singer Bon Scott, who died in February of that year. Back in Black was the first album to feature vocalist Brian Johnson, formerly of Geordie.
Producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who had previously worked with AC/DC on Highway to Hell, was again brought in to produce. The album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, and Electric Lady Studios in New York, where the album was also mixed.
Back in Black was more than just a successful album, it was a rock 'n' roll resurrection. Johnson's powerhouse vocals not only honored Scott's legacy, but propelled AC/DC to new heights. The album is packed with anthems that have become rock staples: "Hells Bells," "Back in Black," "Shoot to Thrill" and "You Shook Me All Night Long." Back in Black shattered expectations, selling more than 50 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time!
Back in Black peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and went on to be certified by the RIAA for sales of 27x platinum, making it the third best-selling album in the United States. Critics and fans alike hailed Back in Black as an instant classic.
