The Harder They Come is the soundtrack album to the film of the same name, starring Jimmy Cliff. This 50th Anniversary Edition of the soundtrack on vinyl includes for the first time commercially, The Harder They Come (Film Version), liner notes from the 40th Anniversary edition, as well as new notes from Jimmy Cliff and reggae historian Dana Smart. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be packaged in a 2LP gatefold wrapped jacket with lamented gloss coating and a tipped in booklet.

Jamaican Jimmy Cliff is the second reggae artist, after Bob Marley, to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He preceded Marley in bringing reggae to the international stage, appearing in and performing his songs for the 1972 film The Harder They Come.
