American rock band Little Feat have announced that in celebration of the coming 45th anniversary of their 1978 debut live album Waiting For Columbus they plan to reissue the double LP on July 29 via Rhino Records.

With their 1978 double concert album Waiting For Columbus, Little Feat staked their claim as one of the premier live bands of the ‘70s. Recorded over a series of dates in London and Washington, D.C. over the summer of 1977, Waiting For Columbus vividly captures the L.A. sextet at a crossroads between its swampy mid-'70s fusion of blues, country, jazz and New Orleans R&B.

This first live album by the band was recorded during seven performances in 1977. The first four shows were held at the Rainbow Theatre in London on August 1-4, 1977. The final three shows were recorded the following week at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C. on August 8-10. The band was backed by the Tower of Power horn section.

Outstanding! posted on 09/11/2022 5 Stars Reviewer: dc Outstanding. This pressong is dynamic, crisp, and alive! Originally got turned onto them in 1978 by a college buddy. Had the OP. Can't compare now, but as a collector of many fine LPs, this stands out in its immediacy and more...and besides, the music is first rate! Thank you Bernie!...and Feats! :-)
