Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition on 180-gram LP

On February 7, 1960, tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley with pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Art Blakey, laid down what would become his masterpiece: Soul Station. The crystalline six-song set was a showcase for Mobley's lyrical flow from the breezy opening take on Irving Berlin's "Remember" through bluesy originals like "Dig Dis," and the swinging up-tempo number "Split Feelin's." Soul Station endures as a jazz classic for the ages. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is 180-gram all-analog, mastered from the original tapes.

Musicians:
Hank Mobley, tenor saxophone
Wynton Kelly, piano
Paul Chambers, bass
Art Blakey, drums

Side A
1. Remember
2. This I Dig Of You
3. Dig Dis

Side B
1. Split Feelin’s
2. Soul Station
3. If I Should Lose You

It's a classic for a reason, but it's so much more than that too. I love Mobley's tone, his rhythmic uniqueness, and the rest of the men playing on this album are legends and virtuosos in their own right. The sound is incredible on this version, and my copy is dead flat and silent. Musically special and sonically great. Grab this classic!

Phenomenal recording and presentation. As most of us do, I always look for the combination of a great performance with incredible sonics. This album achieves both.

Totally Great

You can't get much better than this at any price... I loved it. Silent pressing and great mastering.... a total steal. I'll get more of this series if this is what I can expect.

I have both this and the Classic Records 200g version and the latter is clearly superior - more transparent, wider soundstage, better dynamics. It’s not close. If you can get a good copy of the Classic version for a reasonable price, go for it.

It's got soul!

To anyone who has wished that they had a great vinyl pressing of this album look no further. So grateful for the effort and care that went into the mastering and pressing of this issue. The musicians, material and sound are all first-rate. And such a relief that this is offered at an affordable price. I hope to explore many other titles in this series based on this purchase alone. Well done everyone! Very pleased and highly recommended!
