Elizabeth King - Living In The Last Days

Looking to uncover the gospel that's been lost in soul and the soul that's been lost in gospel, Fat Possum's Bruce Watson launched Bible & Tire Recording Co. The Memphis-based label seeks to bring both new releases and archival recordings to public attention, focusing on "deep soul gospel music."

Elizabeth King is a gospel singer who never reached the same sort of fame as singers who moved into the secular world — but one who's got a vocal power that would have made her a star, had she chosen such a move! Her previous album with Bible & Tire Recording Co. D-Vine Spirituals Recordings, featured her with a combo, The Gospel Souls. The male backing group offered up great call/response energy to Elizabeth's lead, which only seems to drive the music further forward with its power.
