180-gram gatefold double LP reissue

Recorded live during the band's October 1978 U.S. tour!

2020 remaster from the original tape by Andy Pearce

Regarded by many as one of the finest live albums of all time, Strangers in The Night captured English rockers UFO at the peak of their powers as a band. Originally released in 1979, this double album recorded during the band's October 1978 U.S. tour, can only be described a live greatest hits of the band's repertoire. This newly remastered version of the album has been done from the original masters by Andy Pearce and presented in a gatefold sleeve on 180-gram vinyl.

UFO are an English rock band, formed in London in 1969. They became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the new wave of British heavy metal. Throughout a career spanning 48 years, UFO have released 22 studio albums, 14 live recordings and 16 compilation albums, with several albums and singles (including their 1979 live album Strangers in the Night) in the U.K. and U.S. Top 40 charts, and have sold more than 10 million records worldwide.

2020 Remaster from original tapes. Discs feel heavier than 180 gram. Received in May 2021. I have the original released vinyl that has been well worn over the years...this sounds better. Great dynamic range and soundstage. sounds big and open. The Michael Schenker guitar parts are blistering. I'm really enjoying this album again.

Not as dynamic as original

I found this remaster a bit flat as if it was mastered digitally and cut out some of the symbols, original sounds better than this IMO. However I like the music and if you don't have a copy of original you will be happy with the music.
