R&B star John Legend's latest ode to the power of love!

Pitchfork says "It's a a pretty good time to be John Legend. Since his last album, he scored the Emmy to secure his EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony awards), had a second child with model Chrissy Teigen, was awarded an honorary doctorate at Berklee College of Music, and was named Sexiest Man Alive. The album he recorded amid all the success, Bigger Love, is correspondingly upbeat and joyous.

Legend believes in the power of love the way some believe in Christmas spirit — as a transmissible, irresistible force that extinguishes all negativity. Fittingly, the album reunites him with producer Raphael Saadiq, who was behind his 2018 Christmas album. Legend is pegging his new album, which was recorded primarily in 2019, as a sort of balm for the times. "A lot was going on, but I still felt like people need some uplifting music," he told Oprah Magazine. "Hopefully it can help them get through what's been a tough spring, and hopefully this music will help them have a better summer."

Speaking with Jimmy Fallon back in March, Legend admitted that Bigger Love is "probably my sexiest album to date. If you're stuck at home and want to make some coronababies... if you spend a lot of time with your partner and you need a soundtrack to that."
