Andre Boucourechliev - Ensemble Telemaque

Telemaque Ensemble, founded in 1994 and now a fully recognized music company with Raoul Lay as its conductor since the start, devotes its time to performing and promoting contemporary music. A special feature of its program is the series of concerts known as the Telemaque en Portraits, for which the ensemble receives financial aid from the Sacem Foundation. These concerts enable a wide spectrum of the public to discover some of the major composers of the 20^th century. Productions such as Mauricio Kagel’s Variete, staged by Bernard Kudlak of the Plume Circus or Raoul Lay’s La jeune fille aux mains d’argent, directed by Catherine Marnas, on a text by Olivier Py, have all contributed to Telemaque’s reputation. First performances of new works, often commissioned from young composers either from France or abroad, have become one of Telemaque’s main activities.
