Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound

"...these are all truly classic Verve titles that you simply don't want to miss...most importantly, the sound of these reissues is nothing short of astounding. Particularly the early Billie and Ella mono records are incredible treasures of sonic beauty. I'd definitely ask Santa for the whole set, or, if you want to cherry pick, the most classic titles. Whatever you decide, you owe yourself at least a half dozen!" Winner of a 2012 Positive Feedback Online Writers' Choice Award - Danny Kaey, Positive Feedback Online, November/December 2011

When Jim Davis started producing records at Verve, he changed the company's recording philosophy toward its most prolific instrumentalist. Where Norman Granz had produced countless Oscar Peterson albums dedicated to the popular song, Davis was more interested in making albums closer to how the Peterson trio sounded live. His first Peterson records were the legendary London House sessions. By the time of this album, there had been no personnel change in the trio for five years - so it is no surprise that the rapport among the musicians here is telepathic.

Originally released in 1964.

Oscar Peterson, piano
Ray Brown, bass
Ed Thigpen, drums

I'm a huge fan of the Oscar Peterson Trio AND everything I've heard so far coming out of Quality Record Pressing. This is a great performance and a fabulous recording. I have a lot of jazz albums and quite a few on 45 RPM but this one has seen the most playing time since I purchased it.

Analogue Productions records have just gotten better now that they're pressed at QRP in Kansas. This is a fantastic album and it sounds stellar. Thanks to Chad and the crew for a job well done in bringing this album to life. And of course thanks to the crew at Acoustic Sounds for the usual excellent service.

Yes i am also one that rarely writes a review. These new 45s are sounding excellent. I feel the bass guitar is right in my room along with all the details of the vibrations from the string.

Money well spent

I normally don't write reviews on things that I buy. But on this purchase it feel it is a must. This is by far the best sounding LP in my modest collection which includes many of today's so called "Audiophile" pressings. I have many original Verve pressings of the Oscar Peterson Trio. While I have always loved listening to them I feel that this recording, not only for it's performance set but it's sonic signature is phenomenal. Hat's off to George Marino. As good as the new Tea For the Tillerman sounds, to my ears this just kills it. If anybody is on the fence with regards to purchasing this album don't hesitate. It's so good I bought another one today. Happy Birthday dad.....

This is one of the first jazz albums I owned. Replacing my crusty old copy with this wonderful Speakers Corner reissue has been like getting it all over again. The sound quality is one of the best I've heard out of this label. I can hear Ray Brown tucking his bow away into its leather sheath on "You Look Good To Me." Amazing...This is one of the gems of my collection.
