Good music, faulty pressing posted on 08/24/2016 2 Stars Reviewer: Steve Got this because I liked Worrisome Mind so well. I don't like this as much, but that's not the real problem with my copy. Near the end of Side A I noticed a serious Wow in the music. The side was pressed off-center. The surprise was that Side B is centered perfectly. Hmm? I wonder if this contributes to other reviewer's comments regarding bad sound. Bad quality control, certainly.

Songs are nice but sound is off posted on 09/29/2014 2 Stars Songs are nice, nice voice but on a good stereo, you can hear into the mix and it is mixed to death, flat, 2 dimensional and dull.

My One and Only Thrill posted on 11/08/2012 4 Stars WOW! I heard a couple of the cuts on youtube and thought I'd take a chance on this LP. It did not disappoint and every song is a winner. Gardot's voice is fresh and seductive and the recording is very good and quiet. Unfortunately mine had some paper scuffs that are audible at the end of side B. I'd return it for an exchange but I don't want to let it go.

I use an SME 20/10 with series V, lyra skala. Good enough to risk buying it again... Yes!

it gives me chills posted on 01/02/2010 5 Stars Reviewer: dave h this album took me by surprise. for some reason it sat on our office shelf (i write about music for a local indie weekly) for months and i did not see it. i put it on in the background as i was doing other things...and it literally stopped me dead in my tracks. her voice - my god! such range and such control. i liken it to a restrained fiona apple crossed with the sweetness of judy garland. there isn;t a weak moment on this release, but personally the title track devastates me. and also Lover Undercover on which she really proves how amazing her voice truly is - when she hits that last note and holds it toward the waning seconds of the song, i have to stop what i am doing and just breathe it in. chilling. aside from that, she is a gifted songwriter, her piano and guitar playing is delicate and the arrangements are wonderful (and i am usually not a fan of strings/jazz combo). i can't recommend this artist enough and have been telling everyone i know about her.

As good as it gets! posted on 04/11/2010 5 Stars Reviewer: Don My wife and I have been listening to female vocal for many years as our favorite genre. This has instantly become our favorite album. The recording is excellent, no, sublime! we listen on a Teres turntable with a Shure SME 3009 arm, a Denon 103r moving coil cartridge and there is no complaint at all with the quality of this recording. Every song is wonderful. Melody is sultry and dynamic.

My One and Only Thrill posted on 04/15/2009 5 Stars Reviewer: Adam Grede 'My One and Only Thrill' is hands down my favorite new release this year. I was very curious to see how Melody would follow up her 2006 release, Worrisome Heart, and this certainly exceeded any and all expectations I had. Her voice, the production, and the orchestration are all top notch. The album itself sounds fantastic, and has left me breathless in awe of how wonderful of a young new artist she really is. Do yourself a favor and experience her music for she will certainly be a hit for years to come; a true modern classic.
