Top notch pressing and presentation and dead quiet. All of these Acoustic Sounds Series titles can easily be called definitive versions of these classic historically important albums.

When Chad Kassem announced the Chess 75 Series, he said that nothing would be held back and no expense spared. He delivered with aces!! From the top quality packaging to the excellent sound, everything is solid on this brilliant release . The vinyl is as quiet as a church mouse. Matt Lutthans' mastering choices are perfect with warmth and vibrance I've never heard on this album before. Wolf's vocals sound so soulful on this album, and the music just takes you to the moon with him. I very highly recommend this album to fans of early electric blues.

If you love Muddy's blues like I do, this pressing will bring tears to your eyes. I can hear Muddy's heartbeat and his soul in every bit of the music. The gatefold jacket is beautiful and of the highest quality. The mastering and pressing is just marvelous; it checks all of the boxes. This excellent reissue is a great way to kick-off the Chess 75 Series, and it is very highly recommended!

Posted Friday, July 4, 2025 by Lou Olsen This is an awesome sounding and very intimate Blues recording. Nice rich analog sound befitting of the album. Buddy and Junior sound like they're having a complete blast. On a side note this album is dead dead quiet. I did not hear a single pop Crackle of any kind. This album has deep dark black background. I did give it a wet clean prior to play but you would swear it is digital quiet. Thus this just goes to prove we don't need $125 records to have quiet high quality all analog recordings that we all want!! Please keep giving us records like this at this price point. Isn't that what all audiophile really want?

I have to say as a fanatical Blues collector this LP Mastered at The Mastering Lab has shot right up to my TOP 10 Blues Albums. I had never seen the name Matthew Luthans but my hat is off to you Sir for a spectacular job at Mastering. Folks it just doesn't get any better than this. Chad Bless your heart for being the Blues Man you are and for watching over this.

Not only a stellar recording, but mid-to-high tempo blues music, with a nice selection of instruments. I can only imagine what the 2 x 45 version sounds like.

I've been collecting records for 40 years and have a modest collection of 900 Lps- most 1st pressings from the late 60's on - but nothing compares to this pressing from Acoustic Sounds! Wow! Quiet pressing, amazing sound, fabulous packaging- just fantastic. At 54 I've just bought the best quality album ever. I've bought originals, classic records, modify, Japanese etc. but this is the best in every detail. Well done to you all to produce an l.p. this classy!

More over Lightnin’ sounds amazing..voice is like gritty butter and his picking is especially punchy. Don’t sleep on this. Great pressing but sure sounds like a mono

Posted Sunday, November 19, 2017 by Anonymous As usual, the AP pressing sounds great. But this is supposed to be a Prestige Stereo reissue and it sounds exactly like a mono recording. Hopkins voice is front and center and bass, drums and guitar are packed in with him in center stage. It says this was recorded from a needle drop as the tapes have long been missing. Makes me wonder if they got a hold of a mint mono original pressing and confused it with a stereo version.

Outstanding Americana music (Folk/Blues with horns would be another description).Blown away by the feeling in the songs and the sincerity of the whole thing. In the rotation for a long while to come. Excellent silent vinyl surfaces enhance the listening experience.
