Posted Wednesday, December 7, 2016 by Bill Donohue I have an SME V tonearm. I read their phono cable wasn't that good so I tried out a few of the high-priced models from a dealer on a loaner basis. I then tried this one. This is the BEST by far. I love the Ortofon carts anyway, but never expected a cable from them this good. Don't let the low price fool you. This is a high-end cable.

Fragile.

Posted Wednesday, November 6, 2013 by Brian This phono cable is exceptionally fragile which is a surprise to me coming from Pro-ject. The ground wire is super, super thin and spade terminals are extremely small and susceptible to dislocating from wire. When I recieved mine it was a demo and the barrell cover on the left terminal will not thread on correctly and stay in place. I used loctite to secure it otherwise when I try to disconnect from rca terminal the barrel comes off but not the rca connector. They are however, very quiet when connections are all secure. Would not replace with same cable. Spend the extra money for a better quality cable.

Decent Balanced Tonearm Cable for the Price

Posted Wednesday, December 22, 2010 by Jack If you have a HRX or Super Scoutmaster table, this cable provides balanced inputs/outputs for phono amps that have that capability such as the ASR Basis Exclusive. Balanced inputs/outputs allow for refined fine tuning of the load of your moving coil cartridge with the phono amp if the phono amp allows balanced inputs. Although the cables are great for the price, they are not in the league of Purist Audio balanced cables but the price differential is more than a thousand dollars. However, the sound difference is notable with equipment that's comparable to the Purist Audio cable, so keep that in mind when choosing your tonearm cable.
