While you can always argue about certain choices on a remix like this, the bottom line is that this is a truly great set of tracks that are vastly improved by what turns out to be an excellent multi-channel treatment. I have listened to this set since it first came out in the 1970s and listening to this SACD in 5.1 was nonetheless a whole new experience. While Blow By Blow is at least as good a set of tracks (and arguably better), Wired gets more out of the surround sound treatment - at least for my ears. Great sound, great mix, great music and without question one of my favorite 5.1 discs. Very highly recommended.

I originally bought this album in '83 and played it until I got sick of it. So I was somewhat hesitant to order it now, yet I was intrigued at the thought of a hybrid version. The new SACD is so good that I was stunned when I first played it. Friends also listened to it yesterday and we all agreed that you can hear sounds that you didn't know were there. It's a perfect mix. There are no gimmicks and the band and their great music are the shining stars. If you've listened to this recording a thousand times or if it's new to you, I recommend it highly. You might also check out "Sailing To Philadelphia" on DVD-A and "Shangri-La" on SACD. Quality guitar and music.

The total sound is very good, however some instruments just seem to be coming from the rears that may have not been originally placed there. all in all I feel it is a very good mix with pristine clairity.
