I'm more of a jazz, rock, classical, and soul fan, but this Willie Nelson record featuring Emmylou Harris and produced by Daniel Lanois transcends genres and really appeals to a wide cross-section of music lovers. I think Willie is 65 here, and his voice still sounds really good. The recording is really well-done and sounds terrific on vinyl - warm, airy, nice soundstage. I have the CD also, which sounds very good, but to my ears the vinyl beats it (even if the original recording was digital, which I don't know).
It's not an audiophile pressing. Clarity and instrument separation are very good for a standard-price pressing, but not at the level of, say, Analogue Productions/QRP or Speakers Corner. There's a bit of surface noise, but it's easy to tune out. These issues are minor, and for the money you're getting a gorgeous sounding LP.
Highly recommended.
